First, I should note that this is my first post, so I am trying to play nice, but I have to somewhat hope I am not violating any rules. Second, my little variation on this theme is unlikely to work out, but I can't resist posting it, regardless of the level of fantasy. Our Southern Gospel group has talked about taking a cruise, more as an opportunity to practice a couple of times a day instead of once a week as we normally do. We are what you might call a local group having never sung much more than 50 miles from our home base in Virginia. If anyone were to work on coordinating a group of Christians who wanted to cruise, and while cruising would like to add some singers to the faith oriented activities we would like to explore possibly coming along as participants and provide a few (chapel) concerts. Toward such a cruise group, let me propose a mini framework. I propose the Carnival Pride out of Baltimore (because I know it has a chapel that was little used, and Baltimore is close by). Also, I propose that a clergy person, be "engaged" and that the denomination of the the preacher be known (after all, we protestants are a fractious lot, and it would be best if those of us signing up would be comfortable with the doctrine of the preacher.) We would probably want to allow the preacher and perhaps given enough participation the preacher's spouse to enjoy the "free" fare that goes with booking a group. I'd also propose, that aside from free or reduced fares for "leaders" no cruisers be compensated. Of course, whoever might coordinate such a group cruise would be actually calling the shots, I'm just laying out what I thing are minimal conditions to make it workable. Again, it's mostly fantasy and unlikely to happen.

The klove station has a yearly cruise. Just shot off the Divina from this years klove cruise. I will never do another klove cruise. Never in my life have I experienced people like I did on this cruise. Validated why we don't corporately worship at a big church or small one for that matter. Had fun and enjoyed the concerts. However the large number of awful and disrespectful fellow cruisers completely turned me off to Christian cruises forever.

Hi all,

I know it has been a long time since anyone has posted on this thread, but I have to share.

My husband and I are Bible study teachers at our local church. It is a passion for both of us. Last year -Fall 2016-we took a Trans-Atlantic cruise (Norwegian Epic), and put together a fantastic Bible study class at the last minute. Without any advertising in the daily bulletin, we grew each day. It was such a fun, inspirational experience, that we are going to do it again. Our class had a plethora of denominations represented, as well as 5 Pastors on vacation, all were glad to be in a class, and not leading one (it is a lot of work). The conversations, interactions and opinions were all very respectfully shared. God was definitely among us we studied His Word each day.

This year we have planned two TA cruises- Norwegian Getaway (Copenhagen to Miami) Oct. 15 to the 29th, then Norwegian Star (Rome to Miami) Nov 5th to the 20th. This year we do have a fantastic travel agent helping us with details, such as dedicated space reservation, communication with cruise director on the ship pre-cruise, our travel arrangements, transfers, tours and hotels. (Lisa Silvestri of Silvesti travel) We are also working to put together "voluntourism" opportunities at our ports of call. There is no up-charge to use her services, and chances are she can save you money. 2% of any bookings done through her will be donated to a non-profit of our choice. We are paying for our travels out of pocket, going with inside rooms to make this affordable. We truly love the experience of Bible study on-board, and would like to grow this ministry.

If you are interested in a Trans-Atlantic cruise, would like to enjoy Christian fellowship on-board, or have musical talents you would like to share,(and want some much appreciated :D daily practice time) we would love for you to join us! Please help us spread the word!

I would love to hear from all of you. Any feedback is appreciated.

I originally posted this on the carnival thread and had a suggestion to try and see what type of response I would get here. So here goes.....:

Before some of you start attacking me, My DH, bff and her husband and I just got off a cruise on the Freedom. We had a fabulous time. We enjoyed a lot of what the ship had to offer. Spent a few dollars in the casino (I would rather spend my money on other things like the spa, etc...), bingo and spent some time in the 70's club and karoke. Only had one instance that I really hated was a guy wearing a t-shirt with different "positions" on it in the MDR. I understand that nowadays people can wear just about anything in the MDR but can't the line be drawn somewhere? There were parents of small children and older people in the dining room that were offended.

Anyway, back to my original question. I was wondering how many people there are like us on a cruise. Christians who don't drink but like to have a good time. We would have loved to met others like us. (Don't be offended anyone can do as they wish just as I can do as I wish). Would anyone like us be interested in possibly doing a group cruise?

Yes, I would be interested in a Christian cruise. Especially one that has Sunday church services and a bible study everyday. This would be a great way to meet other believers.

Our last trip with Princess was the Holyland Cruise and there was one service on Sunday at sea with only a handful of Christians showing up (I was suprised so few). Now we are booked on a Panama Canal cruise in February 2014 and I see the first Sunday (not the second) is at sea so hopefully there will be a non-denominational Christian service, perhaps an opportunity to meet others for fellowship during at sea days. Would there be any other way to connect with Christians on a particular cruise other than meeting them on Sunday morning?

Thanks for any ideas.

See if they have a bible study or fellowship everyday, especially on sea days.

We just returned from Canada / New England cruise and Princess did have Bible study on many days, though one time it was just me and my Bible.  That was encouraging.  Our next trip is to Hawaii October 24, 2020 with lots of at sea days.  Hoping to have Bible study on each of them, preferably not to conflict with hula lessons (in which case the Bible wins).
