Sydney as a port call

Recommended Posts

We are four from the USA sailing the HAL Maasdam 17 nights round trip Auckland over the holidays. We visit Sydney on December 23 and are scheduled in port from 7:00 to 6:30 PM, so I assume 'all aboard' will be 6:00.

This is our first port in Australia so we assume some type of immigration process would be necessary. Many on the ship will be disembarking however likely 1/4 of the ship's guests will be on the round trip cruise starting in Auckland like we are.

Any idea how much time we should allow to get off the pier? Also, is there a way to know where Maasdam will be docked?

Thank you!

Usually Australian immigration officers will board the ship at the last port of call in New Zealand, you will receive a letter in your stateroom listing the time and venue to report with your passport to the officers..... it will be on a sea day between the two countries.

Maybe HAL will run a shuttle bus from White Bay to the CBD.
