November 16, 2018, Barcelona to Lisbon, Spain and Canaries, 12 days on the Marina.

I am really surprised that more have not joined us on the roll call.

We have been to the Canaries , amazing.

The price for the cruise starts at 1, 899, that is a wow price considering what others cost.

This is 2017 vs 2018.

They seem to do similar every year, both in the fall and coming back in the spring. Seems to be just a relaxing cruise if that is what you like to do.

Anyone thinking of joining us?

Are you paying? :D

We are on a B2B from Venice to Monte Carlo before you - it would be a stretch to stay on even though it is a good itinerary that is priced right.

BTW - our roll call is MUCH slower than yours even though we cruise before you. It will pick up.

Yes, hope you are right and things will pick up on the roll calls.

It is really so much more interesting when you meet some people before sailing.

Other lines have huge roll calls. Celebrity to name one.

Perhaps one reason is that O includes some tours in ports.

A lot plan private tours but the cruise is well over a year away & tour guides are more interested in booking for 2017

A lot can happen in the next year

relax :halo:

Just to chime in, I'm on two roll calls -- one for November 7, 2017 on Marina, the other on Riviera departing Monte Carlo on May 10, 2018 ... both have VERY few participants, although they are picking up.

As has been said ... be patient.

Then again, maybe it will remain quiet ... as Lyn said, most passengers are NOT on Cruise Critic.

True.

Also, as it has been said above - since O Life came into being many people take O tours and fewer private ones. They supplement the O Life tours with using their OBC (if any) for remaining tours, thus further reducing the need for private tours and participation in roll calls..

Our Cuba cruise is the only one we took the free excursions we normally take the OBC

spa & shopping works for us LOL

I also think that is the reason for less participation on Roll Call.

We have 3 O life tours with this one. All the rest we plan to do private tours, if anyone eventually joins us.

Another possible reason for low Roll Call participation may be the universe of available passengers. Since only a relatively small percentage of cruisers use Cruise Critic and the ships are much smaller than the Celebrity ships, therefore less people to join the RC.

That sounds very scientific and reasonable.

Then explain this – 966 replies and 26,256 views on a roll call for the “tiny” Insignia with 680 passengers here http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2237896;

or even 158 replies and 1,977 views on the same ship (only a segment of a world cruise)http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2340697

or 117 replies with about 1500 views on Nautica (not a world cruise) http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2338449

Let’s face it – some roll calls are more active than others – not a very scientific but a very simple explanation :D

PS I didn't even bother checking the "larger" ships Riviera/Marina - just some of the "tiny" ones.

Whatever. There will always be exceptions to any theory. I was just throwing one out. Didn't do the scientific proof of a hypothesis. Maybe you could do some further research please?
