Crown & Anchor Society & Celebrity cruises

I just set up our account on the Celebrity website and it automatically gave us "Select" status because we've sailed on Royal Caribbean a couple of times. Didn't have to call or anything. :D

No discounts or anything on the b2b we're going to be taking next year but maybe something will show up later.

This was my experience also, very smooth.

It was great getting Select status on our first Celebrity cruise in Barcelona where the check in line was 100 ft out of the door on a hot/humid day, but the Select+ priority check in line had no wait at all.

Same thing just happened to me. :) It's nice when something unexpectedly good happens instead of a nasty surprise. Kudos to Celebrity and Royal Caribbean.

We'll be sailing out of Barcelona - nice to hear. Although our date will be mid-October so I imagine it won't be too hotl

Did your online Captain's Club profile show you were Select before your first Celebrity cruise? I called and gave Celebrity my C&A number which should make me Select under Celebrity, but I am still listed online as Preview status.

It should show your status as Select if they did the linking of your accounts.

To be clear, to have Select on X, you have to be Platinum on RCL.

Sparky,

You have to call the Captain's Club to get your category upgrade (or have your TA call them).

The benefit is that you get the higher cabin inside to inside, OV to OV, and so on. For example on our upcoming cruise we are sailing in a Cat 9 inside but paid the Cat 10 price. The perk doesn't allow you to pay for a Cat 9 (Inside) and sail in a Cat 8 (OV). And you can't pay for a Cat 4 (OV) and sail in a Cat 2C (Veranda).

As one of my former co-workers used to say, "Sounds like a plan". I'll have to call tomorrow and check on that. Thanks.

  • 1 year later...

I'm going on my first Celebrity cruise later this year and have been on one 7-night RCL cruise (Gold status). I called the Captian's Club today to see about adding my Crown and Anchor # to my Celebrity res and was told that the ability to take advantage of RCL status on Celebrity doesn't start until you're Platinum on RCL. He did go ahead and "link" to two accounts, but my Gold status won't be translating to Classic on Celebrity. This is not a big deal to me, but I had read on an earlier post on this thread that it would so decided to give it a try. :-)

Just thought I would pass this little tid-bit along for anyone at Gold status wondering what it gets you on Celebrity. ;-)

This thread is two years old, the policy is now changed, the reciprocity starts at platinum now.

As a RCCL Diamond Plus vs Celebrity Elite, thisis what RCCL gives you that Celebrity does NOT!

One free pictures per person (2 for a couple)

A dedicated lounge 24/7

A full free day of wifi per person

Better and more organized boardingprocess

Three free casino pulls

Four/Five bottles of free water inroom upon arrival and cookies

Some special treats fruit/candy inroom during cruise

A special pass tobridge/kitchen/backstage

All you want to drink during RCCL social time - not just 3 drinks as on Celebrity

In addition to all you want to drink during social hour in lounge or if you can't make it to the lounge...

Three free drinks per person at bars during 1700-2030

We do not drink alcohol and so all we wanted was bottled water or sodas

Celebrity Evening social is only1700-1900 versus RCCL 1700-2030RCCL has finger food"Buffett" rather than some server bringing around a few bite-sizechoices

With the exception that Celebrity has more ports/routes than RCCL we feel Celebrity Elite status is treated like a 2nd class citizen when compared to RCCL.

Comparing Diamond plus to Elite is apples and oranges.....Different levels Also, Celebrity does not limit you to three drinks during the social hour, it is unlimited.
