We booked YC on the Davina for the April Bermuda run. I am really excited and after hearing about the fantastic service in the YC I am almost more excited about the ship then Bermuda! Thanks for all the great input, I will know how to get the most out of being in a YC cabin. Also I would assume you can get drinks from Top Sail or even your room and bring them to other parts of the ship. Although if I'm in the Jazz Club I will a drink from there and not run back and forth. I heard a couple of different options - some bought drink tickets to use outside of the YC. I also saw where someone wrote how a few YC sailors had their butler bring them drinks while in different areas of the ship.... to me that's a bit much.

....about the butlers bringing you drinks in areas outside of the yacht club !

If YOU do not bring your drink with you when you exit the YC area.....you will have to buy drinks...

Well by the sounds of it I wont want to leave the YC area and worry about buying drinks from the "Other" areas, (I'm in snob mode already! LOL)... :)

Bring on June 7!

Cant wait.

We cruise about 3 times a year, just the 2 of us.

I always request early dining, large table. I really enjoy the company of other guests on the ship.

I told my husband that I wanted to go to the main dining room a few times for dinner during the trip because there is not the 'shared dining experience' in LeMuse. In fact there are not a lot of large tables in there. I did not care if we had to pay for wine in the main dining room.

LeMuse is actually set up very comfortably. The tables are not to close together but just close enough if you wanted to talk to someone at the table next to you. The wait staff was the absolute best. Very personable.

We wound up in there every night.

They sat you at the same table every night. I am going to request the same one for this trip. It was a window table. There is a pool right outside of the restaurant. It has the kind of glass where you can see out but people cannot see it. There was some good people watcing out there.

Twice they had to send an officer to ask a lady to 'cover up'. Seems there are a lot of Europeans on the ship & in Europe it is ok to sunbathe topless.

Because it is in the evening, a lot of people will start to leave as it gets a bit dark.

They are unaware that behind what looks like black glass, there are people watching.

One evening, an older lady.....say about 75, thought her & her husband were the last to leave so she decided to change out of her swimsuit right there, on a bench in front of the pool facing us........would not have been bad if she was a few decades younger.

Although I am sure we all felt a bit guilty watching 'the show', it was hilarious.

Some of the waiters covered ther eyes yelling No,No...

The whole reataurant was in stitches.

I hope the same waite staff is there. We rarley have gone to a 'pay restaurant' on a ship and always felt the atmosphere a bit stuffy.

Le Muse was elegant yet relaxing & friendly.

Thanks for all the info. I was just curious whether people follow the formal night dress code in Le Muse.

There were quite a few tuxedos on formal night when we were in YC. I just stayed with a lounge suit. Most men wore at least jackets if not suits and of course the ladies were nearly always "dressed up" even if it wasn't a formal night.

Yes, very much so on all three YC cruises I have been on. Gowns, tuxes, suits, cocktail dresses, etc on everyone...never saw anyone not dressed up on formal nights. Even on 'regular' nights, folks tend to dress up in Le Muse. It's quite lovely seeing everyone, even children, looking so spiffy!

Hello YC specialists, i was wondering if the YC restaurant follows themes like the MDR? Thanks in advance!

We've only sailed in the YC, so I'm not sure what you mean by themes in the MDR. The first time we sailed out of Miami, Le Muse was "meh". After the fourth night we just wanted something different. The last time we sailed out of Barcelona and we couldn't get enough - it was superb. Not complaining, though. I wouldn't sail anything other than the YC on an MSC ship.

For example, last year in the mdr, we had formal, gala, flower power night, italian night, and the others I forgot :p

Oh, thank you. Now I understand. We did have formal night and I do remember Italian night - but I don't recall anything else. It is pretty low key there.

I'll be in Yacht Club leaving next month on the Divina's repo from Genoa to Miami. I'm curious about the demographics in YC - nationalities of most passengers, ages, families with kids (hopefully well behaved), etc.

This would probably be a good question for an MSC rep to answer. We spent most of our time having a great cruise, not asking people their nationalities and ages. The children we saw in the YC were VERY well behaved - as were the adults. I heard people speaking several other languages - and I would say, from only the folks I noticed around me, 40's and up mostly.

I should add - just because we had very well behaved children on our cruise doesn't mean you won't get some not so behaved ones on yours, since the "population" changes weekly. It's just a toss up. Enjoy your cruise! You will have a wonderful time.

I would agree that the children in YC are a bit more well behaved then outside of YC. We travel with my now 4.5 year old daughter which was one of the youngest...only a few others her age. Also as well as the adults...not to sound bad but it is sort of a different class of there ..wheaher the people are or either they are just on their best behavour while pretending. But I know we never had an issue in YC like we have had outside of YC on other ships.

I was on the April Bermuda cruise mostly Americans. There were a few young couples - very fun & a group of seniors. It was diverse. Most everyone was friendly and spoke. I'm in my early 50's and think that was about the medium age. The few kids I saw were VERY well behaved even at the pool. I think thats why I enjoyed it venous more. I cruised on the NCL EPIC in Europe and paid for the adult section to get away from all the unruly kids, it was worth every penny. I was relieved when I saw the YC didn't have that issue. I can't wait for December to get here so ready to board the Divina again and enjoy the attention of the YC staff.

We have sailed 4 times in the YC with my grandson...his first cruise at 6 months, then at a year, 18 months, and two years old. Each time he was the only baby/toddler in the YC. Only twice have I seen other children in the YC, and that was on the New Year's sailing and the Spring Break sailing. The children were around 8-10 years of age and VERY well behaved. The folks that sail in YC seem more inclined to have children who have been raised in an environment that stresses manners and good behavior. These children were quiet in the pool, never ran in the halls, and were extremely polite to the grown ups. Love my YC!

We are looking at a 7 day cruise on NCL out of LA going 'Haven' class (courtyard penthouse). Seems like good value, AU$4000 includes the usual Haven perks + drinks package (throughout the ship), excursions, wi-fi, speciality restaurants and OBC.

Is the experience equivalent to MSC YC?

We have never cruised other than MSC YC so will we be disappointed?

If my conversion chart is correct, AU$4000 is equal to $2,804 US. If so, that is UNBELIEVABLE! The Haven courtyard penthouse price in the US usually runs well over $6,000 US, no matter what time of year you go. How in the world did you get such a cheap price???

My understanding is that La Muse on Divina is open seating but some Caribbean reviews from April 2014 said that they were forced to choose once they were on board between an early or late seating as they were told the Yacht Club had been sold out.

Anybody else have this experience recently. When I booked I had assumed it was open seating.

We were on MSC Preziosa earlier this year and YC was sold out but there were no restrictions on dining times.

When checking in at Concierge you may be asked at what time you'd prefer to dine. It will depend if the Yacht Club is full. I've been asked on two occasions out of the three I've been in YC to advise early or late dining.

I actually witnessed a group of 4 people being made to wait for a table because they had advised early seating and came late - I heard the maitre'D say it to them. I was just behind them. They were asked to step to the side while myself and DH were seated. I even apologised to the m'D for being late because of it (and we were that evening) but his only concern was that our regular table was unavailable. I have a feeling it had been the group's first night and he was marking their cards that he could not facilitate them if they didn't arrive at the time they suggested they'd prefer. That was on my trip last month on Divina in the Med.

On all 4 of our YC sailings on the Divina we have been asked what specific time we wanted to dine. And on the one evening we were late, our table was indeed given to someone else. They do make you adhere to the time you state. If you come at a different time, you will most definitely sit somewhere else.
