Hi

 

In the past we have booked a Welcome on board Package of flowers, a bottle of bubbly and some chocolates. We have to phone to do this though apparently. Have not had issues in the past though and it was been sorted quickly and waiting for us in our cabin.

 

Well, this year it is driving us nuts. Last weekend we spent almost an hour on the phone before we gave up, earlier this week hubby spent another half an hour and again tonight we gave up after 15 minutes. (If we hear the message about Select Fares once more we may both go mad!)

 

Why, oh why can't we just book this on our cruise personaliser, like we do with excursions? I really do think that sometimes P&O make things far too difficult for us all ... and it costs us 3p per minute..

 

Come on P&O, be kind to us and sort it out. If this was a cruise from Southampton we'd take it all ourselves, but as we are on a fly / cruise we want something a little special :rolleyes:

The phone situation is absolutely awful at the moment, I have no idea how they are sustaining their business! My tip is to press the option that you want to book a cruise - those will be the priority calls and will be picked up first.

P&Os response on their Facebook page, of which there have been many complaints, is that they are receiving an unprecedented high volume of calls at present. The problem is there have been complaints for months so its not a new thing of which P&O seem to want to do anything to resolve the situation.

Well whatever the reason it's certainly not a small blip in service - however they dress it up the reality is that the emperor has got no clothes on as far as their ability to answer the phones goes!

Why don't they let us just book on line ??!!!

 

I just want to book a bottle of bubbly ---------------surely it can't be that difficult?

Have requested a call back --- it will be interesting to see when we get the call!

If we don't have any success we will use the other phone number given by 'sueandphil' :-)

 

Still think it would be easier just letting us book it on the cruise manager page. Surely that would be easy to do?

Well, we didn't get our ring back, so we tried the other phone number above.

 

We actually spoke to a real person within about 3 minutes and then .... she put us through to the department that sorts it out. Ahhhhhh :eek:

 

Sadly, we are now on hold and listening to that stupid tune and information about the Select Fayre. Hysteria has now set in in the Presto 2 household. We may just be insane by the time we board .......

Did you try the pressing the 'book a cruise option'? They may also transfer you I suppose. If anyone from P&O reads the board I think they should offer this on a complimentary basis given what's happened!

Good idea but there's as much chance of that as there is of one of those famous flying pigs appearing past my window.

 

Why not try a very polite email to Christopher Edgington outlining your recent "welcoming" experience and asking if he can somehow assist.

 

I know it might seem ridiculous that you should need to write to the UK Marketing Director over something so simple but unless people keep escalating problems to a level where senior management can realise the inconvenience and dissatisfaction that is caused, nothing will ever improve.

2.5 hours last week over 3 calls for a simple enquiry when I eventually spoke to a person there was not much of an apology but said they are aware of the issue

 

The call including confirming my identity was less than 5 mins

 

Calling from my but line total costs exceeded £11.00

Hallelujah, we have finally booked out package! Had a phone call from P&O at about 5pm tonight. How difficult can it be to book a special package :confused:

Hubby did ask why we just couldn't book it on line and she said, no as 'things kept changing'. Well, we've booked this same package since our first P&O cruise in 2010, so surely technology can keep up with that......

 

Am not a 'P&O basher' but this really was not good enough this time - surely they know that the demand is high ?!!! How much custom must they have lost when people have just given up?

 

Oh well, off to watch Oceana leave Genoa on the webcam and think the 10th of August and our 'Welcome on Board' package :-) It will taste very nice after this ;)

 

Still not insane ------ though we have that stupid song going around and around and around in our heads............. oh, and the message about Select Fares !!!! You have to laugh ....

Glad it's finally sorted Presto, I've had a bit of a faff trying to sort my FCC from my ship visit a couple of weeks ago!

 

Really love P&O, but good grief, this has been ridiculous ! Just as well we are determined and have a sense of humour ! :rolleyes:

Yes just about I think! The cruise specialist will be phoning me soon to book something so at least I know she can sort it if it doesn't show up :)

Its just nice to be greeted with it in your cabin ...don't want to have to get off the ship once boarded to go in search of 'stuff'. Know what you mean though.
