Getting to the Dock (Tampa/Inspiration Ship)

How and when are you getting to Tampa? When we went on the Inspiration last year we flew into Tampa two days early and rented a car from Alamo/National (same location). Upon returning it they shuttled us over to the cruise terminal. It was very convenient.

Some car rental companies supply the shuttle service, some don't. I would call the airport locations directly to verify. Sometimes the central office does not have correct info.

On the way back we took a cab. Since there were four of us it was much less expensive than the Carnival transfers (about $20 - $25 including tip). The cabs were lined up as you exited the cruise terminal. Again very convenient.

It was $19 for a taxi to airport from pier. We took a shuttle to our hotel the night before the cruise and then a taxi from the hotel. It was around $17 for the taxi from hotel to pier. I am sure though if you take a taxi from the airport it should not be more then $20. There are plenty of taxis at the airport too no problem getting a taxi.
