byanks7 Posted July 28, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 28, 2016 We will have 2 nights in Florida after our Disney cruise, 7 of us with 3 children, 1,10, and 14.The last time we cruised, we drove up to Daytona and spent the 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express. This time, I am looking at Cocoa Beach for the 2 nights. Are there opinions as to which area you would recommend? No big sightseeing plans, we will just hang out on the beach all day, find a good restaurant at night.
moki'smommy Posted July 28, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 28, 2016 There are LOTS of places in Cocoa Beach. We stayed once in the Best Western suites which is right at the boardwalk. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it...but I needed a suite and they had one. Ron Jon's resort is nice if you want to go fancier, but to just hang out on the beach, that's not needed. Of those close to the terminal, Radisson has the best pool, but I like the Country Inn and Suites best. Those would be a quick car hop to the beach area. Capt_BJ Posted August 5, 2016 #4 Share Posted August 5, 2016 (edited) Ron Jon resort has been sold .... http://www.ihg.com/holidayinnclubvacations/hotels/us/en/cape-canaveral/ccvcv/hoteldetail has a BIG kids pool area but is not on the beach ... they run a free shuttle to the beach +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ International Palms is an older place, formerly the Holiday Inn resort. Since being bought by International Palms Resorts a few years ago it has been undergoing constant revision. http://www.internationalpalmscocoabeach.com/ If you can accept the fact that it IS an older property it is one of the FEW places right on the beach ... most of the beach front is taken by condos. It has direct beach access, a HUGE pool area - with a special kids zone - and several eating options on site as well as others in walking distance . . . and they have larger family suites .... ++++++++++++ AND there is a brand new Homewood suites that just opened (May). It is at the port, across the street from the Country Inn .... but not at the beach .... Edited August 5, 2016 by Capt_BJ
bespinct Posted August 6, 2016 #5 Share Posted August 6, 2016 If you're looking to stay at the beach, Jetty Park has cabins that sleep 4. The beach is right there, and you can even wave back to the Fantasy or Dream as thy leave PCAN.
RJake1 Posted August 7, 2016 #6 Share Posted August 7, 2016 Consider driving 20 mi south to Melbourne. Hotels are cheaper. Nice beach. Good restaurants. Not as crowded or "tacky" as Cocoa Beach.

They were very pleased and said everything they wanted was right there. It is right on the beach. The port hotels are not.
firsttimedisn Posted August 24, 2016 #8 Share Posted August 24, 2016 How is the Hilton that is in Cocoa Beach? It's advertised as oceanfront. Is it nice? Good location? Kid friendly? Thanks!
