Snorkeling recommendations Cozumel

We will be in Cozumel right after Thanksgiving on the Independence of the Seas. Does anyone has any experience with good/reliable independent snorkeling excursions?

This is a very active forum with almost daily threads on snorkeling. If you put "snorkeling" into the search engine for this forum maybe it will help narrow down your search. Also you need to decide in Cozumel whether you are looking to snorkel from shore or from a boat.

We used Eagle Ray a few years ago and were happy. For less $$ there is good snorkeling from the shore at the Money Bar - some of the smaller excursion boats bring their customers here and anchor off the shore. Good facilities (lockers, etc.) and rental gear if you need it, plus good food/drinks/service. No beach - you enter the water via steps - but there is a sandy area for sunning and relaxing after you snorkel.

Chankanaab Marine Park also offers good snorkeling from the shore plus a separate beach area - but the admission fee is about $20/each.

We used Tigersadventures.com a few months ago and loved it.

It is a 4 hour tour that leaves from the Money Bar. $60 pp and includes drinks, soda, water, Corona, poweraide, Margaritas made by captain was well as fresh guacamole, nachos, and fresh fruit. Small boat holds up to

17 ppl plus 3 crew. Great snorkeling and then a stop at El Cielo. Great day!
