Port of New Orleans?

My husband wanted me to ask if there is anything to do at or near the Port of Orleans (like there is in Galveston) so when we park our car, if we can walk around and shop or anything like that? I hate to get to the parking deck way early and there literally be nothing to do there.

The terminal is next to a big shopping area and not far from the French Quarter.

The french quarter is within a mile or so and you can take a quick cab and get further or just walk along the river until you see something you like.

You can go to google maps and search for "julia street terminal" and that will give you the general location of where to look for things.
