Owners Suite - Deck 6, 7 or 8

Hi All

We're looking at our first Azamara cruise after sailing Celebrity Suite class for years.

We would like to book one of the Owners Suite at the aft but not sure which deck is best. We've tried searching online for photos' and reviews but not really finding too much.

Of all your experiences, are there any advantages and disadvantages of each deck? We currently have a deck 6 suite held. But the agent recommended deck 8 but that seems to be under the sunset bar.

We're looking at Azamara Journey if that makes any difference.

Hello missminnie, and welcome!

I'm sure you'll get some good comments from this community soon.

In the meantime, at the top of our forum is a sticky thread, started by uktog, entitled Azamara Cabins (or very similar to that.) There you'll find our guests' comments on the various staterooms and suites.

We look forward to welcoming you aboard the Journey, or Quest, soon!

Thank you Bonnie.

We did have a search through it last night and found some useful info. Just wondered if one deck is better over the other. I did read somewhere that as you go up decks the balconies get smaller but wasn't sure if that was true.

Deck 7 is optimal as no noise from deck 8 patio cafe in early am.

in theory outside area does not open until 7.30 but they are still setting up/moving tables beforehand.

Would not really worry though as you are probably on the move by 7.00am if going ashore.

We've been on all three decks. The difference in balcony size is unimportant as the deck space is more than ample. Deck 8 is nice as I don't feel so bad when I need something from the butler and he has to come down (that's my issue - the butler is fine with it). I don't find much noise from above but sometimes people can be looking down from the bar above. Deck 6 is a little larger and quieter but further away from things. Deck 7 is my preferred location but not really a noticeable difference from the others. Layout and furnishings are identical. You'll love whichever you choose - and the Best of the Best dinner for the top suites is phenomenal!

We've stayed on all three, I know what you mean about the butler. Service was always good but I felt it was marginally quicker when we stayed on Deck 8. Never heard noise on any of them and never noticed any difference in the balcony size

I just recently stayed on Deck 6 in the OS on Quest. It is quiet, large deck and we do not need a lot of attention, therefore our Butler recognized it and was there only when asked.

After being in the OS on another R ship with another company, I would think 6 and 7 would be the best decks. You would not want the noise from restaurant above on 8, nor the people looking down on you.

OS was very nice, although the bathroom layout had issues. No cabinet storage, and the shower would leak when the boat was listing. The water would run out into the hallway if you did not put down towels to absorb. Our butler told us it was in the process of being corrected and management is well aware.

Great storage in the bedroom compensated for lack of it in the bathroom. I put bathroom essentials in the drawers next to the desk with mirror and it worked out well. I did however miss the large Bvlgari bath soaps and creams we have become accustomed to on the other R ships. The mini products were not suite material. We also missed the 2 bathrooms other OS ships have.

The decor was updated and lovely as was the service. Our attendants always smiling and timely. We are early risers and early to bed. They understood our schedule and always done perfectly.

We enjoyed our cruise.

  • 2 weeks later...

Have stayed on all 3 levels but find that Deck 7 works best for us since it's 2 levels up to the buffet and Sunset Bar and 2 levels down to the deck with most action including the Mosaic Cafe, the shops, casino and cabaret theater.
