Has anyone done the duck boat tour in Ketchican.

I/we have done different duck boat tours in many cities. Thought we may enjoy this one as well.

Our time in Ketchican is not that long so I thought we would do this instead of another excursion

Thoughts?

We just did the Ketchikan duck boat tour a few weeks back. It was fun and there were a bunch of salmon jumping all around the boat in the harbour. I'm in the process of doing a trip report and will be providing pics of the tour in the near future. If you want to follow along, you can find the report here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2405511

We just got back a few weeks ago and took the Ketchikan Duck Tour. It was fun, they do a city tour then venture into the harbor for a while. There's plenty of one liner jokes and we had a good time. I recommend it.

I also did the Deadliest Catch trip the previous cruise to Alaska. If it was one or the other and you haven't been on either, I would choose the Deadliest Catch.

We took the Duck tour in early September. Didn't want to book in advance as we wanted to see what the weather was doing when we got there. Turns out it was a nice day so were able to book right on the pier. We got off around 10 and got a tour leaving at 1130 which still left us time to wander around a bit and shop .

I'm considering the DuckBoat, as well, and hoping they'll be available for walkups. I've got a flightseeing tour at 8 AM, so I expect I'll be back to the port around 10 AM and am wondering what else to do.

I think you’ll enjoy the Duck tour, we’ve done it a couple times and find it to be a lot of fun. There’s a place in town where you can walk up and buy a ticket, I think it is on Mission or Dock street. Here’s a link to their web site https://akduck.com/activities/duck-tours/ if your over 62 be sure to bring your “America the Beautiful Senior Pass” https://www.nps.gov/planyourvisit/passes.htm you can use it to get into the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center http://www.alaskacenters.gov/ketchikan.cfm and the visitors center at Mendenhall glacier http://www.fs.fed.us/wildflowers/regions/alaska/MendenhallGlacier/index.shtml you can use the pass to get you and 3 of your best friends in at no cost.
