Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. But Carnival is large and does have a lot of clout to get low prices on items. And Carnival is only providing 12 bottles while the discount store is supplying 40 and they are still making money. To get just 36 from Carnival would cost $45, that $41 more and 4 bottles less. I think if the sales go done they will lower the price to something like $12.95 and people will be happy and they still come out ahead but now the customer is happier. After years of being a CPA I know what companies do.
  2. I really don't think their price has gone up 50%. I can get a 40 bottle pack at a discount store for about $4. They can probably get it for a whole lot less. So $14.95 for 12 bottles sure allows for Carnival to cover a lot of overhead.
  3. I just looked for my cruise and it shows $14.95. They have apparently raised it recently. I bought it 3 weeks ago for $9.95. That's a 50% increase. Carnival needs to pay down that debt.
  4. It looks like it's 100% for Hawaii. My husband and I were talking. We were already planning to be in Montana in September next year. So we decided to add the September Spirit Hawaii sailing on to the end of are trip instead of going in March 2026. The sooner the better. It is now booked! It looks like we will be on the same sailing Jamman54.. Thank you to everyone for the responses.
  5. My husband and I are trying to choose a cruise for 2026 and can't settle on 1 of 3 options. We are in are 70's with no major health problems - yet. Also we don't buy CHEERS because both of us hardly drink any. Maybe 1 or 2 drinks on a 7 day cruise. Please don't hold that against us.(ha-ha) Here are our options. The Magic in April 2026 has 2 options, which will be a B2B for a total of 14 days. Both will include the 6 day with Celebration Key, Amber Cove and Grand Turk. Have only been to Grand Turk. Celebration Key looks interesting but as of now is still an unknown. Don't know about Amber Cove and what is available. Magic Other Cruise Option 1: 8 day Southern to Bonaire, Aruba, Curacao. We have never been to Bonaire. I understand the thing to do there is snorkeling. I really don't like to snorkel that much and my husband is not a good swimmer. I don't know if we will like Bonaire. Also the fact that these islands are more desert-like than lush is not a draw. If we want a desert environment we can drive to my husbands hometown just 3 hours away. It isn't a negative just not a selling point. We did enjoy our time in Aruba and Curacao when we went. Magic Other Cruise Option 2: 8 Day Eastern to Half Moon Cay, San Juan, St Maarten, St Thomas. We have never been to Half Moon Cay. We have been to the others before, but have always enjoyed St Maarten and St Thomas. We love the beaches on St Maarten and St Thomas, including going to St John. Our last option would be in March 2026. It is the 14 Day Hawaii cruise. We have been to Hawaii on a land trip before and that included all 4 islands. We even have a college friend on the island of Kauai. He used to be the police chief. We are not so sure about all the sea days in a row, going and coming back. If anyone had done this cruise before, do they have more activities. Are any of those related to Hawaii? An added benefit is both of birthdays fall during the cruise. I know. I know. Way too much information. If you made it this far - and are still awake - and have an opinion - please give me your thoughts. Be gentle. I keep switching from one to the next, to the next, and back again. It's a never ending cycle. Thank you for your time.
  6. My best memory is back in 2010 with Big Tex on the Triumph out of New Orleans. He sang "My Song" to me during one of the shows. Embarrassing but so much fun and a moment to remember
  7. You could always check Carnivals Transatlantic crossings and then look at Cunard for the opposite crossing. They have many more crossings both East and West during the year. You might find something that works where you can spend some time in Europe before boarding the return cruise.
  8. I was replying to the underlined portion of your post. A passport will work for them even if their drivers license isn't a Real ID one.
  9. To all the people saying you will need a Real ID license to fly: You do realize you don't need a real ID if you already have a valid passport to fly or to cruise. You don't need to get a new Real ID license if it expires after the Real ID effective date if you have a valid passport. And that effective date has been changed so many times. It should have been in effect years ago. They keep on pushing it back.
  10. If I recall correctly, if you have a connecting cabin, then the balconies do not connect. So if you see connecting rooms, those rooms will have a balcony that connects with the room on the side that doesn't connect inside with them. You'll have to decide if you want connecting rooms or connecting balconies. Can't have both.
  11. I am hoping to redeem ours at the atrium bar on our 2 European cruises. Out of the 19 days onboard there are only 4 sea days. 15 days in port with no Sea Day B. And it's a ship loaded with Platinum and Diamond cruisers. Getting into the Sea Day Brunch will probably be difficult. Only 2 opportunities per cruise.
  12. I didn't have this offer on either of my Chase cards but I did see it on my Wells Fargo card this week. I used it last week. I just got a email telling me the reward has been processed. YEAH!!!
  13. I believe it on the cost. For us it was the same cost as Carnival. The reason we did Celebrity was we had airfare to San Juan and then Carnival cancelled our cruise, but Celebrity was available for the same time. Most of the passengers were not snotty like our tablemates. I let some know they could get to St John Trunk Bay on their own and save money, get there faster, and stay longer. I ended up with 9 people wanting to join us on our trip over. They were all surprised how easy it was to get there. They all felt confident on getting back to the ship on their own. I think you will find the snotty people are few and far between.
  14. We did a Celebrity cruise out of San Juan way back in 2015. I felt that it was not that much different than Carnival. We had many people from Puerto Rico onboard. They seemed to liven things up. There were games at the pool. It was fun to see officers in uniforms playing volleyball against passengers in the main pool. Our only problem was an uptight couple at our table in the MDR. They were friendly until they found out we had been on Carnival and then they barely talked to us the rest of the cruise.
  15. I hope the Premium is that good when we are in the Eastern Mediterranean for our B2B in September and October.
