Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Hi, Cruising on the Odyssey on 2/11/24. How do I email Ken Jones who will be our Cruise Director onboard?
  2. Thanks, Scootaround said they only had 3 wheels then said they would call him tomorrow. We will persevere.
  3. My son was told by RCCL they use a company called "Cloud of Goods" for scooter rental. They use a 3 wheel scooter which is less stable. We have rented scooters before but through a different company through RCCL.
  4. Thank you. I'm 7 wks post op from 6 hour colon surgery and colostomy. But if I have to sit on my balcony n watch the beautiful scenery, so be it!
  5. Yes, I pick it up in the Terminal on embarkation. The Special Needs people told me who to call.
  6. Thanks for the tips. Yes my scooter is supposed to fit through door. I'm on a wait list for Handicap room if one becomes available. (I rented scooter through Cruise line) I'm traveling on RCCL.
  7. Hi, I have a recent colostomy as of 6/26. Ive been in and out of Hospital ever since for pain. My Cruise is 8/21. I'm learning the care of this thing slowly but surely. Got any tips and tricks? What do you carry your supplies in? I also have CPAP, a Dexcom system and an artificial eye. I rented a scooter for ship because we are at the back of a big one, heading to Alaska. I have a medical tag for the bag I'm putting medical supplies in and I know that bag has to be Medical supplies only and does not count as carry on. I'm nervous. I'm an experienced Cruiser at least.
  8. Thank you. I will look. I ALWAYS pay the insurance when booking the trip. So much can happen in the interval. I feel hopeful about the trip. My cruising buddy is an experienced cruiser as well. I think resting on my balcony or anywhere is just what the Dr ordered! I live in landlocked Missouri
  9. Thanks. I got the cancelation policy when booked the trip in Dec 2021. I just found out about surgery a couple of days ago.
  10. I am having a huge abdominal surgery 7 weeks before a Cruise to Alaska that was canceled for Covid. My Cruising buddy is another nurse. We have insurance on Cruise, flights, I rented a scooter just in case - I have insurance on it too. We are sitting in the front of the plane which will be very helpful and we have direct flights. Any advice? I'm a bit nervous. Frankly if I need chemotherapy I will wait 10 days to start till we get back unless it's an emergency and then of course would need to cancel. Any tips to make life easier are welcomed
