We are staying overnight in Rome on June 22 after our cruise and planned on doing the Colosseum night tour with Arena and underground. We had a reservation with GetYourGuide that was canceled a month after I made it. I checked the official website for the Colosseum and could not book any date after April 30. Do they only sell tickets for the current month? When will I be able to buy tickets on that website for June 22 directly from them?

How much in advance do we need to purchase tickets for the fast ferry to Capri from the Naples port? We are will be there on June 21 and plan on taking the 8:05 AM or 8:35 am ferry over to self explore the island.

We are four adults looking for a private tour guide for our first day in Florence. Ship will be overnight, so we would like to do a tour privately, that would give us the luxury of returning to the ship at our own discretion. All of the excursions I have seen return you to the ship at 4 or 5 p.m. We would like to make our own itinerary since three of us have been to Florence before. We know that it takes an hour and a half each way to get to and from Florence. That is why we are hoping to do our own tour.

Thank you again cruisemom. I looked at the Jewish ghetto and it was of interest to me. I found a tour on TripAdvisor, but do you think we should do it on our own, my daughter is very good at navigating cities with google maps. How far is the Forum from our hotel? How long would it take to do the Coliseum /Forum/Baths/Palatine. I am a good walker and thankfully good health. Since I’ve seen the Coliseum I wasn’t sure about doing it again, but I know my daughter would appreciate it. .

Thank you cruisemom. I will check out the baths of Caracalla. I read reviews that say they were not impressed with Palatine Hill. I do agree that the Spanish steps can be missed. Since we are Jewish, I don’t think my daughter will think the Vatican and Sistine Chapel are a must. our hotel is the Trevi Collection, recommended by my travel agent. It seems centrally located. i would appreciate any suggestions you have.

I am staying 2 nights post cruise in Rome. The 2nd day is a Sunday. Is the Vatican and that area closed to visitors? Any suggestions? I have seen most of the must sees in Rome.
