I rented a car and drove straight to Emerald Lake. It was gorgeous. After that, we returned at a leisurely pace. It was a highlight of our cruise.

The lack of tours and the bad reviews of those there leads to me to want to take a taxi to some of the recommended places to visit. Wondering if anyone has done that and have any advice or recommendations. We will be on the HA Noordam, arriving in Kushiro on October 11. Thanks!
