Organic nowadays means many things.
We went to a vineyard whose grapes made were grown using no pesticides or chemicals and no additives during the wine making process. They did have some sheep which would occasionally cut through the vineyard from one paddock to another, rather than go around. To be totally organic the sheep wouldn't be allowed in the vineyard as they had been in sheep dip.
We were told it would cost a sizeable yearly fee to maintain organic certification and as their wines sold so well without certification they decided not to pay for it or claim they were organic on the labels.
