  1. On any cruise, if you don't care enough to discuss the problem-how do expect management on the ship to solve the problem. Sometime it's a simple fix, sometimes it may take a little longer. But don't let one thing ruin your cruise, you have to learn to let it go and move on.
  2. One would think the Butler would set it up wherever you wanted it.
  3. I agree with Carter's, yes they do. This year I've had a back issues which put me with a cane which slows me down, also I need to be aware of what I walking on...that said when I do take a tour (which isn't often) I now make sure I can handle it before signing up.
  4. Oh, I don't disagree with you, yes we had them on Regent, Silversea and "O". I was just being snarly (wrong of me) but with all the problems Carnival is having with drinking and bad behavior I wouldn't resist. Sorry about that--yes I have cruised Carnival once, it just wasn't my style even when I was young. I've always liked better in travel, I've worked hard, travel a lot around the world both personal and business. Now retired I just want to enjoy life while I can, a get away for me is quiet time, no tours-stay on the ship unless there is something really I want to see or just a walk and lunch around a small town during port stops.. Wrong or right, selfish or not that's me--I'm polite, but don't necessarily want to have dinner with others until I get to know them (meaning) sitting around the pool, gym, coffee or a quick lunch.
  5. I agree, if it really is about alcohol - then save their money and cruise Carnival. I don't drink either and I don't appreciate loud month guest at dinner or around the ship.
  6. I agree choosing a ship is very important---so is Corporate , they have to set policy-but you need good leaders on the ship to follow those policies. Only then do you what you should be getting for your purchase and decide if that is the line you want to go on. Continuity is important. I've cruise about 20 cruise on different lines before going to "O" (9 cruises), then I got a little bored and moved to Regent (8 cruises), bored again and moved to Silversea (2 cruises) and didn't see the value so now I've moved back to "O" because of the device and the larger suites. We'll see how it goes.
  7. I think we are missing an important part of the mix. The crew! A good cruise to us also includes the crew performance--the crew can make a cruise or break a cruise. It sets what's going to happen...........
  8. Agree, we don't spend all day in the suite, but the time we do we enjoy then space and additional service that comes with it. We socialize when we want, yet have the privacy when we want. It's not for everyone, and liken you say it's what your preference is.
  9. We prefer the larger Suites on "O" and other lines, as far as dinner goes (cancel or make a reservation) the Butler can handle that on all lines including "O". We've seen what they call a suites on Regent and Silversea, the small suites are really a bed with a couch on the side. To me that is not a suite, a suite is a living area with a door to the bedroom. Just an opinion.,
  10. WOW! I really didn't think they had that many------Thanks for the heads up on this, those are basics.
  11. Honestly, it wasn't problem. We've been on the Riviera 3 times in that suite and have booked it again for 2025 cruise. It's just a great suite to be in and enjoy the cruise. I mean you'll have a little noise, when docking - but for us we wouldn't change the suite for that.
  12. Have to disagree only about experience. December and January we were on the Nova of Silversea. They run out of some wine, and you had to ask for more. They also run out of lettuce for the salad bar along with a few other items. The Butler never thought ahead, you had to ask for --- and Butler service isn't 24/7. We enjoy afternoon coffee in the suite (we were in a top suite) somedays you got - other days it was forgotten, that's not luxury to me.
