Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. United's policy is they'll let you change to another flight without charge if you have a schedule change more than 30 minutes. I would strongly suggest changing to the next flight rather than taking a chance on the moon and stars aligning to make a 10:20 flight.
  2. That was my experience on whatever my last Dream class ship was, in the casino annex.
  3. 1. No. $60 for the Princess Plus package includes gratuities on the drink package plus the standard gratuities to the crew. If you buy the standalone Plus drink package, you do pay gratuity on that. 2 and 4. Same price on board, although Princess claims the quantity of Princess Plus packages for sale is limited and they may run out. 3. Not sure, but it does show like an addition to the cruise fare on your invoice. So it you're in the penalty period for cancelation, I can see how it might be nonrefundable.
  4. This is the exception to the rule, at least in ports with separate debarkation lines for passports and birth certificates.
  5. Don't forget my Drinks On Us Everywhere (aka free Cheers package). And I guess I should pay them back for all that casino free play too.
  6. One benefit of the smoke-free casino annex on Carnival is you're more likely to get a drink from a server if you have DOU (and maybe even get it faster).
  7. By all means, low fares even if the cheerleaders have to eat corn flakes, bologna sandwiches, and hot dog spaghetti.
  8. Helpful for you maybe, but I can guarantee they're not looking for suggestions that are going to give any edge (back) to the player😆
  9. I think Carnival tried something a bit similar for with a tie-in to the game "Clue", due to Carnival's association with Hasbro. Except it wasn't as organized and there weren't individual packets of evidence. After the initial clue was given out, e.g. at some event by the CD, the remaining clues were usually given at events/venues where Carnival was selling something. Didn't take long for people to realize there wasn't much substance to the 'game', and they were the ones actually getting gamed because it was just a ploy to get passengers to buy more stuff from Carnival.
  10. So no one is allowed to bring up points relevant to but not specifically mentioned in another post? Who made you the Cruise Critic posting police?
  11. I didn't say anyone did mention it, but the reality is that Carnival likes to frame their food cuts as for environmental reasons when the reality is that the primary reason is for cost savings.
  12. Except that Carnival cares much less (if at all) if someone bought the wasted food a la carte (bread bowls) vs. got it as complimentary food (taco shell bowls). Most of Carnival's "green consciousness" is just whitewashing to cut expenses.
  13. That timing was because Jubilee is the newest ship and attracts more Platinum and Diamond cruisers, which reduces the number of FTTF slots available. Other than Journeys cruises, where they don't sell it, FTTF is going to open up much sooner on ships that aren't the latest and greatest. With rooms no longer being immediately available upon boarding, and with FTTF priced so high how, I wouldn't worry about it selling out on most older ships.
  14. I try to avoid itineraries with Jamaica altogether after multiple experiences with hostile locals. If I can't avoid an itinerary with Jamaica, I stay on the ship on that port day.
