Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. It depends on how you link them. If you want only you and the lead to see all of the info, then have the lead login in to their account and choose to add a cruise to their account using your reservation number. Then you will only see your information and they will see theirs and all of yours. If they add multiple reservations to their account in this way, the lead will see everything for all reservations but you and any others linked to them will only see your own reservation information.
  2. The lead on Royal can see and change personal information on each reservation. Dining time, bed configuration, purchase modify or cancel any pre cruise bookings. They can add events to the calendar...basically anything you can do to your own booking. If you check in yourself, the lead will then see all your check in info...passport info, dob, address, credit card if you add one to your sea pass card before cruising, they can add or remove names for pick up at Kids Club. If you don't fully trust the lead you are linking your reservation too then I wouldn't do it. I'm the lead for my sisters and parents room because I make all the reservations, check everyone in and plan the vacation for our family ( I am the only one that doesn't work so they give me this job.) If you have any hesitation then don't link. If you are worried about dining together in MDR then go there first thing upon boarding and ask for the reservations to be seated together.
  3. We have 4 reservations linked for my family. They are all linked just to me. So I can see all of their information, make or cancel pre cruise purchases and check them in. However, when they log in they can only see their own information, not mine or the other reservations that are linked to me. Once onboard, I have never been able to see their onboard purchases.
  4. Can you share which company you have rented a recliner from? I am looking at Scootaround or Special Needs at Sea for a cruise on Royal Caribbean. I called both companies but can't get model names or dimensions for their chairs. Have you worked with either and is there one you were happier with? Worried about both cleanliness and comfort of the chair. Thank you!
  5. Did you end up renting a recliner? If so, do you have any pictures or recommendations? Thank you!
  6. Has anyone rented a recliner from Scootaround or Special Needs at Sea? Looking for reviews on cleanliness and comfort of chair so I can decide which company to go with. Traveling on Icon in October in an accessible spacious infinite ocean view balcony so Royal said the chair will fit. Their special needs department wasn’t sure if one of the twin beds would be removed or not. If you have any pictures of your room set up with the chair or the chair itself that would be appreciated!
  7. I have limited mobility and use a wheelchair for distance. Is the hideaway paved in most areas? I am traveling with family that will be able to assist me. How far is it from the end of pavement to the ocean? Thanks!
  8. Is there a good amount of outdoor shaded seating on Icon deck 16? Kids will likely spend most of their time on waterslides, mini golf, flowrider and rock climbing. We have 3 generations going and my elderly parents will likely want shade while outside. There are 10 of us traveling. Trying to determine if renting a Casita for sea days is worth it or if I can find outdoor seating in the shade for at least 3 in our party. Thanks for your help!
  9. I am leaving on the NCL Breakaway 8/7 and purchased vibe passes. I'm in a wheelchair and was told there was an elevator but I don't see it on the deck plans. Do you know if they have an actual elevator to Vibe on Breakaway? And not one of those chair lifts that you need a staff member to use. I hate those because I can never find an employee and always feel like a bother. Thanks!

  11. I have cruised with Holland, Carnival, Princess, RCCL, NCL and Celebrity. Found that across all cruiselines, the access desks don't have clear knowledge of excursions. It is best to find the company the go through and contact them directly. If you can't find the company, go directly to the excursion desk and ask to speak with a staff member that has recently been on that excursion. I started out with a walker and over the years have transitioned to full time use of electric wheelchair. In June I booked a snorkeling excursion (I can walk flat ground with assistance approx 50 ft.) The on board excursion desk said no problem. Ha! The boat transfer was fine. But I had to walk down 2 flights of steps made of rocks built into a steep hill and then a 100 yard walk on the beach before entering water. And then I was supposed to go up those same steps in the end. No one on the boat or the guide directing us from the dock to the stairs ever mentioned anything to me while in my wheelchair. Clearly I couldn't even attempt the stairs! I sat in my chair at the top of the stairs watching while my family snorkeled for three hours. They loved it and I got eaten alive by mosquitoes from the bushes where I was waiting. This is why I usually book private excursions where I can ask lots of questions and get pictures before booking. IMHO, worth missing out on the NCL excursion credit.
  12. I'm in an electric wheelchair and can't get off at GSC because it's a tender port. And a 4pm stop in San Juan means alot of stuff is closed leaving food classes or going to dinner as the options. And unfortunately most restaurants in Old San Juan aren't wheelchair accessible. Definitely bummed when I saw the new Aug 7th itinerary. If St. Thomas is removed, it will be 7 days at sea for me 😞
  13. My sister and her husband boarded yesterday after booking the cruise earlier this week. Only had Oceanview window available and were really worried about the A/C issue. I spoke with her today while they were in Key West and she said everything has been wonderful. She went to guest services directly upon boarding to ask if she could pay to upgrade to a balcony. They did not have any available but took her info. Also told her that A/C was a real problem last week but an independent company had boarded when they docked in FLL yesterday and worked on it all day. Around 6, she got a call from same woman at guest services saying they had a concierge level balcony available and to please stay in room for a little bit. Within 30 minutes, that woman showed up with new keys, housekeeping to help carry their bags and moved them to their new balcony room. Best part, no additional cost! Sister and husband said the Oceanview's room temperature was cool and the balcony is slightly warmer but still comfortable (and my sister runs hot). They said all the linens look newer and were told the carpet throughout main parts of ship are new. They are used to mega ships (with their 6 and 9 yr old kids). Went in with lower expectations because of the older boat but said the staff and food have been great! They're keeping a positive attitude because their main goal this week is to just enjoy mom and dad time and some peace and quiet while I have the kids 😀 Hopefully this helps alleviate any nerves for cruisers traveling on Infinity soon!
  14. @vacation44I am in a wheelchair and no matter how early we get to the port, I can never compete with the mad dash to purchase Vibe passes. Saw your message last night and called NCL when they opened. Now happy owner of 3 passes for our August 7 cruise on Breakaway! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING!!
  15. $30 per person. 2 people to a station that cook together. So if the class if full (most are) and you are taking the class by yourself, you will be paired with another cruiser and share cooking and food made with them.
