  1. We're scheduled to be there the end of May. We only plan to stay in the city. I'm hoping this will minimize our exposure. I hate the thought of using DEET. I know there are other repellents out there, but not as effective. Also, I am one of the lucky few, mosquitoes don't like my blood. I can be with several people and I will be the only one not getting bit.
  2. It doesn't baffle me. We have created a society of victims. I'll tell you what baffles me. People who don't get trip Insurance. In our case, we are spending just under $5000 for our next cruise. The cost of the cruise, airfare, parking, hotel, food, tips, and travel insurance, etc. I don't know about the rest of y'all, but that's a lot of money for us. Why wouldn't you spend a couple of 100 dollars to insure your investment? There are innumerable things that can happen to interfere with your plans. Sorry, not sorry for those without trip insurance.
  3. Carnival is saying if you cancel your next cruise, you will be penalized $1000. People are losing they're minds. I may be in the minority, but how is this disaster, where people died, Carnival's fault? Trip insurance, people!!!!
  4. Exactly, what choice? I'm waiting for the complaining to begin. What is Carnival going to do for us.
  5. Our day starts with room service coffee as our alarm. Sit on our balcony to have coffee and watch the ocean. Into our "breakfast " clothes and head to lido. Blue Iguana?, buffet? Blue Java? That's a game day call. Back to cabin to change and off to Serenity with a book. Then to spa to enjoy thalassotherapy pool, stone lounges and shower. Lunch, some kind of drink and roam the ship to looked for something to do. Back to cabin to change for dinner and decide where to eat. Have a pre-dinner cocktail at Alchemy, dinner and probably a show and then some people watching. Stroll on the outside decks. Back to cabin for a glass of wine on the balcony. Good night
  6. You sound a little sour. Maybe Carnival or sailing not for you.
  7. Currently, I am dancing with who brought me. We have enjoyed all our Carnival cruises. I am platinum and the hubs will be plat our next cruise. We have thoroughly enjoyed all our Carnival cruises. Good value, virtually the same ports as other lines; We are looking at Princess now just to change things up.
  8. That's noble of you, but if we keep lowering the bar for behavioral expectations, we all lose. What is acceptable today is a far cry of what was acceptable in the past and the world is not a better place.
  9. You know, people always say if you don't like whatever, just go somewhere else. That is an option, but I happen to like the Carnival product. Why should people be.chased away because of bad behavior of parents that don't supervise their children? I am not anti-kid, I am anti-nonpresent parents.
  10. Hence the timers on most hot tubs. Thalassptheropy pools are entirely different. The ones on the Dream class are are large and enclosed. The bubbles are "vigorous " so you have to hold on. The water is on the verge of hot and is full of minerals.
  11. I am not a huge hot tubber, but I am a thalassotherapy pool fan. we usually book a spa room for unlimited access to it. I don't see how anyone can stay in either one for hours.
  12. I've seen kids snorkle in them. I'm not a huge hot tub user, occasionally on the evening on Serenity.
  13. On another thread complaining about kids in the hot tubs, one parent responded with "I paid just as much money as anyone, so my kids are just as entitled to the hot tubs as anyone". Oy vey.
