Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. It will be fun to watch our vaping friends throwing their empty Busch Light Peach beer cans over the railing, too. Yes, let's change policy, Celebrity, to fill those inside cabins and get folks back in the casinos!
  2. Agreed. And, it's been my understanding that the elevators were installed to accommodate those who cannot walk the stairs to The Retreat Sun Deck. However, the elevators on both ships are not working and they are waiting on parts and repairs to get them serviceable once again. We don't know the back story to this story, however.
  3. Yes. And some who are miffed because access to the helipad for sail away is restricted due to steep stair access. The access, however, was designed for crew access and not passengers, much less than those who are mobility challenged.I understand their dilemma but I also understand that it's not a 'discrimination' issue. If they push it the only good response will be for cruise lines to no longer offer sail away gatherings.
  4. Good point. Not anything that I really enjoy, honestly. But, they are marketing to a much younger crowd now. Someone much younger on one of the forums once told me I should leave and take my antiquated opinions with me. Funny stuff.
  5. You make a really good point. And, by the way, both elevators for The Retreat Sun Deck on Summit and Millennium are out of service, waiting for parts. At least that was the story aboard Millennium this past April. We will be aboard Summit next month and it will be interesting to see if the elevator is operational. Otherwise mobility restricted folks who can't maneuver stairs can't get there.
  6. That strikes a bell. It might be that the process and plans for S class ships was different than those for M class. They removed the library on the two M class, and installed staterooms and that really created a stink from passengers. On the S class Revolting they left the library alone, but did change the Solstice Deck to a Retreat Sun Deck, and of course, redid Michael's Club and renamed it The Retreat Lounge. Luminae was redecorated and name remained the same other than it's been branded, "Luminae at The Retreat" (at least on Beyond).
  7. Interesting. Do you recall if Silhouette was pushed out of dry dock early due to Covid or a dock damage issue?
  8. Actually Silhouette got the entire Revolution process, including some new staterooms and a Retreat Sundeck, with hot tubs (no room for a pool, unfortunately). You may confirm this by going to the deck plan, if you care to.
  9. No apology needed here. Just conversation and nothing offensive in any form. I bid you a night of great sleep and rest.
  10. I often wonder if she has ever spent a week or so in any stateroom on a Trans Atlantic or Trans Pacific cruise? Maybe so, perhaps not.
  11. I suppose editorial and opinion are one and the same. Thanks for your thoughtful post.
  12. You will see a huge difference in the Retreat experience between Edge class and Solstice class, specifically Eclipse, which has NOT undergone the Revolution process (and likely won't). That said, however, you will still receive The Retreat treatment with a butler, concierge, stateroom attendant, Luminae (maybe the best restaurant on the ship, and Michael's Club (aka The Retreat Lounge). The only thing missing is the Retreat Sundeck, which is a non-issue for us, and may not be accessible to all passengers where installed in M and S class ships.
  13. The other plus of S class ships is that Murano is aboard and is probably the best specialty restaurant in the fleet. One opinion, and I'm probably wrong, of course.
  14. I really feel like this document is nothing more than a marketing tease to make people feel like it's going to happen 'soon'. Whatever that means. I doubt if any of the remaining two M class ships (oldest in fleet) will ever the R process. It's iffy, at very best, that the remaining S class ships will see it, as well. Note: From what I've seen overall the change has not been really well received by those who like the M and S class ships and it might work out best if X just leaves them alone and quits 'suggesting' that it could start again 'soon'. Again, whenever that might be.
  15. You are correct. Constellation is a Millennium (M) class ship and only Solstice (S) class ships in the Celebrity fleet have Murano as a specialty restaurant.
