We're boarding the Vista today. They sent us an email last night to inform us that our boarding time would be pushed back an hour and a half. Just two days ago, they also switched the port days all to different days.

Appreciate the reply. The songs we have in mind are some popular radio hits from the 80s and 90s. Nothing too abstract. I would assume they would be usable. However, I realize that having the song accompanied with lyrics and removed vocals will definitely limit the availability of the selection.

For anyone who has participated in karaoke on any Carnival ship- Can you give any insight as to the availability of songs a person can choose from? How limited is the selection? What is the process like? My wife and I are wanting to participate on our upcoming Vista cruise. We have some songs in mind, but not sure how deep the selection of music goes, or what they deem to be acceptable.

This isn't strictly a cruise ship issue. Order any premixed libation from a bar where they often serve fruity concoctions and you're likely to get hosed. Think of the those giant yard sized drinks people ofte buy in New Orleans/Vegas/pro sports venues... they all contain very little alcohol compared to the large amounts of frozen slushy you get. If you can't get a buzz off of 15 alcoholic beverages per day then I would consider that user error. Avoid the frilly drinks and order actual coctails. Or drink whiskey neat/whiskey coke.

We are on that same sailing for the 12th. We've already done the Belize/Hondoras itinerary before on the Vista, and only chose this sailing to see Jamaica/Grand Cayman. Oh well.. I've heard none of these ports are particularly great anyway. We mostly cruise to party on the ship, so no huge loss. See you on the Lido!

I am an avid consumer of cannibis, admittedly. However, I refrain from smoking onboard any ship out of respect for others and the rules. Many do not have the same self-restraint. It is quite easy to smuggle small amounts aboard for personal consumption, and the smell is very obnoxious for the non-consumer. One also has to consider the type of cruiser that carnival attracts. Often that demographic coincides with a culture that is more apt to be marijuana friendly. How each ship handles these types of rule breakers is truly a difficult task.

I was on the Triumph about ten years ago and became friends with a large group of people who I had never met before. There was a young couple in that group that were pouring their own drinks on the Lido from a nondescript container. They were of age to drink but the crew stopped them and searched their room and found booze and other things that they smuggled aboard. Reportedly, their sail and sign cards were taken away from them for the rest of the cruise as a punishment. I'm not sure if there were extenuating circumstances involved that I was not aware of, because again, I didn't really know these people. However, I've heard you are not technically allowed to bring your own alcohol outside of your cabin.

My wife and I are young and healthy and we prefer the exercise. Add to that, I usually have over $10,000 in camera gear in my one of my suitcases. I wouldn't trust a stranger with that.

Sorry if off topic- I have never been offered an elite cruise and never noticed if there were other sailors who were on theirs when onboard. I noticed some people in our facebook cruise group that mentioned they are doing an elite cruise for our cruise date. Before reading that I just assumed an elite cruise meant that ALL of the cruisers on that sailing were on an elite cruise. So, does this mean that the casino on our sailing will be packed since there will be people on there who took the Elite cruise offer? Do all sailings have Elite cruisers on them?
