Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I just started picking up insurance with Covid going on for the few cruises I've done since. But luckily I've never had to use it. I just expect if I had an issue it would be covered (local cruising never had to fly). I am now looking to do a land vacation to Colorado and want to make sure I have coverage with all the crazy stuff happening with airline delays. How is coverage dependent on the reason a flight is delayed or cancelled with insurance? I also booked a few hotels for our stay in the mountains and wanted to see if I could get coverage if we are unable to get to the lodging due to snow storms or just snow blocking road access? Thanks for any advice anyone has!
  2. Anyone know when they will post available cruises to Alaska in 2024? Just wondering what month I should start looking on the website.
  3. We are all testing the 2-3 days prior to arriving to port that they tell us to, most of us are doing the home test that's proctored and one is doing testing at their school.
  4. So Carnival just sent an email out with this info: Any guest who tests positive at embarkation, and their traveling companions in the same stateroom along with other close contacts, will not be able to cruise and will be provided a future cruise credit. (A close contact is any individual who has been within 6 feet of an infected/symptomatic person for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period within 14 days prior to sailing.) It sounds like anyone in the cabin even if they aren't close contacts would be barred from cruising even if they hadn't met before getting to the port? Totally sucks if so.
  5. Yea we're all friends that live separately. Supposed to be our finally get all together after cancelled cruises... Hopefully I'm just over worrying myself, but things have been going super well recently. And there's always something at some point that screws that up lol
  6. Will the rest of the party still be able to cruise since we are not 'close contacts' as stated in the policy? We haven't had large group together since before covid time and I want to make sure if someone ends up getting left behind they are taken care of money wise but everyone else can still enjoy their vacay.
  7. Just being having last week worries if something happens as my party is coming from all over to cruise. If someone pops up POS before we meet up, we aren't close contacts as no one is in town together yet, what is the best route so the others can still enjoy their vacation? We all have separate insurances. Cancel that person and get FCC or refund (whatever they offer?) and claim any insurance coverage for extra loss? No show and claim insurance on everything? I've never used travel insurance so don't know how that works? Thanks for any advice. Just getting last minute jitters of something happening!
  8. Same, can't they schedule that on days people don't need to check in lol. I gotta get up for work!
  9. There was no fees to change bookings a couple months ago. Dunno if that still applies, especially with it being past final payment. Itinary didn't change yet that I know of, we just decided not to take the chance since most of our party lives in Florida and can't see the point of paying to fly elsewhere with prolly a good 50/50 chance of it changing to a trip we could do local for much cheaper lol
  10. We ended up swapping our May 22nd cruise to Horizon. With it being the first Carnival ship out there we were just afraid of the unknown, and paying more for something we could get cheaper elsewhere lol. So hopefully we can rebook a Bermuda cruise in the future, be nice if we could get one out of Florida and not have to fly for it.
  11. Just booked him for our May trip. Contacted him via his website form but the email he responded back was peattaylortours@gmail.com
  12. I was thinking about that afterwards but decided it's prolly best to stay where we are so we aren't going cruising vacation broke lol
  13. Still an upgrade and new to me 🙂
  14. Oh that sucks. I actually did my first tea time on my last cruise a month ago with a friend I finally talked into cruising. I had never had the urge to check it out (not big on tea). But she wanted to go so we did. The snacks were so yummy! And they had a green tea that I was ok with sipping on. Was thinking of trying it with some strawberries cut into it on our next cruise. Sucks I won't be able to!
  15. I always hear about it. Even talked to my friends about it. We decided an amount and type of room we'd be willing to upgrade to if this rare thing ever happened (We're currently in a Cove Balcony). I've been cruising the most out of the four of us. Call was for a Family Harbor Suite (with split bathrooms) for another $400. Unfortunately one of my friends is a bit broker so out of curtesy of her budget and the idea of more kids around us (plus the perk of a family lounge that I'm paying for that we don't need) I declined. Now if they'd call back and offer a Havana Suite for that price...
