  1. Do they have cabs/taxis that are in port willing to take you to wherever you want to go? so this way, we don't have to book any excursions in advance.
  2. sorry for the delayed response....I was not notified, I had a response...thank you for the info...I'm going to check out that website right now!!
  3. Hi, We will be in Flam, July 9,2024 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on RCCL Anthem of the Sea. We were wondering if there is a reputable tour company that can take us to the Stegastein Viewpoint and the Tvinde Waterfalls. Or what are our options for transportation that include those 2 spots? or other suggestions of must sees in Flam? Thanks in advance for any comments!
  4. Thank you so much for the details. It is very helpful!! Any suggestions on must see's walking around the port area?
  5. We will be going on a cruise in June. We want to do a boat tour to see the Arch, etc. I'm not sure if there are other options of the boat tours to the arch, but so far I'm only seeing Water Taxi or Glass bottom boat. Which would be better to do, or are there other boat tours? We are 4 adults. How much would the water taxi be round trip to the arch and back? Do they say anything about what you are looking at? How much would the glass bottom boat be? we really don't care about the glass bottom just looking into tour boats. We don't want to get dropped off at any beaches (our friends might), but we just want to get some great pictures and come back and do some shopping and walking around the port area and of course have a local drink or two. Thanks in advance!
  6. Thanks, these are great suggestions...I didn't consider dinner, because I assume most would rather eat on their own time. I also, considered trying to find a place on the ship and having drinks together before dinner and discussing what everyone is doing for the evening like Karaoke, etc. but late nights will not work with the ones with young ones who go to bed early....so I was trying think of something to do during the day, too...Maybe a mini golf tourney, bumper cars ? If they have them on the ship we pick. As of now we will not be getting family shirts....but who knows...maybe we will, if everyone wants too.
  7. Still waiting on family responses, but I think maybe between 20-25.
  8. Hi, I'm trying to get a Family Reunion together for 2024. As of now probably on the Anthem of Sea or Oasis of the Seas. I'd like to get some ideas of what kind of activities we can plan for a couple of hours a day....I want everyone to enjoy the cruise and the islands on their own if they want, but I would like to have us all get together, at least once a day and enjoy being together. Age group will be 2-65. (Just 1 2 year old and 1 5 year old...the rest pre teen and up.) Open to ALL suggestions!!
  9. Thanks everyone for your input. This has been very helpful.
  10. Thanks Schoifmom! Good to know! Does anyone know, if they have sales on the Cheers Package, or is it always $59.95. Also, I do have another question, do they take the gratuities at the time you get your drinks?
  11. Hello, We will be sailing out of Long Beach, CA on the Panorama. I've read that in TX sailings Cheers doesn't start until the second day. I thought I also saw that is the case from Long Beach, where it doesn't start until the second day, but can't find it now...does anyone know if that is the case in Long Beach, as well? We never got the Cheers package, do you get billed for the number of days of sailings....for example, a 7 day cruise, pays for 7 days on the package, even if it doesn't start on the first day? Also, right now the price is $59.95 per person....do they ever have sales on their drink packages, like RCCL does? Thanks in Advance
  12. My husband and I (60 and 63) did the falls with Carnival in April 2022. The walk up wasn't bad at all...I was expecting worse. I was disappointed with the number of falls we did, which was only 7. I believe it was supposed to be 8, so it's not like we were expecting 12 and got 7. I'm not sure why it was that amount....plus, for that day, we were told we were not allowed to jump at all and can only slide down....which was fine with me. (or climb down the ladder). But my hubby was disappointed, he really wanted to jump at all the falls. I assume the water levels were low? The water was icy cold, but we got used to it fairly quickly. If you do not have water shoes, they have them for rent for $8...Lockers are also $8, if you do an excursion with Carnival, they charge it to your room (not sure about the shoes, I assume so). Lockers are a good size, you can probably fit a small back pack in it. They attach the key to the life vest with zip ties. After getting your helmet and vest, they give you 1 bottle of water and you have to dispose of the bottle at the last rest stop. The walk up was about 40 minutes or so...didn't have a watch or my cell phone, so not sure. I had asked in CC about tipping etc. but got no response, so I will answer my own question here if anyone wanted to know.I was initially told by Carnival excursion desk, that tipping was one big jar....but for some reason, the 2 guides we had were not affiliated with the falls and had to be tipped separately, we tipped our photographer as well. We purchased the photos....not sure if it was worth $55 but we didn't bring our phones on the jumps, so wanted some memories of them. Not much time at all, after we got back but we managed to get a beer and a Mamajuana drink, for a great price...I believe the bottle of beer was about 24 oz for $4 or $5...can't beat that. We had to drink them on the bus. All and all we had a great time....and would highly recommend this excursion.
  13. We will be in St. Thomas in November. We have been there before, so all we want to do this time is go to Mountain Top and have a couple of Banana Daquaris. I've been seeing Open air buses, I believe they are called Safari Taxis? But I haven't been able to find much on them. How far from the pier, can you find those types of taxis and do they just go up and down, from up there or do they tour the island? Do you have to wait until they fill up before going up? How much do they cost per person? Thanks in advance!
