Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. I don't think so. Having followed the instructions sent by P&O , it's a fairly straightforward p rocedure. No problem placing them in the basket, then not possible to complete checkout with the instruction to 'checkout later . Then the next time I checked 7 items removed. Then informed 'you already have a booking for', then underneath So we can't book, checkout later. Next screen shot states, 'this product is on hold so we can't book'. I've got screen shots anyway so I'll just show them at the theatre entrance. Hope the theatre entertainment performs better than their website!!!
  2. Well it seems to be a worse situation than yesterday 're pre booking entertainment, when I had at least 12 nights in the'basket' and to return to checkout later which I did, only to be informed that checkout 'not available'. Logged in today to find 7 items removed and 5 remain in the basket. I have, once again added the ones that have been removed, gone to checkout again only to be informed I have nothing booked. What a waste of time, now I understand why customers become exasperated with P&O's website
  3. Today, I've received an email regarding booking the entertainment for our 23/09/23 cruise on Iona. After selecting our options and placing them in the basket, I then proceed to checkout where it informs me, I've booked them before and it will let me go no further. Off course I have done no such thing. Now I've read countless times that P&O website is mediocre at best but this is not what I wanted to see. Although I ticked the check box for both guests, the basket info only shows one name. Surely this isn't correct either
  4. Just wondered if anyone who has done the 14 night Spain & Portugal med cruise this year on Iona can give any indication of the arrival time back into Southampton please. I realise it can change but just trying to organise onward train travel home. I have read on Cruise critic approximately 7.30 - 8.30 am, but that seems relatively late to me so thought I'd double check. Thanks
  5. I feel for you honestly. The coughing, sneezing etc that was going on was truly un-believable. No handkerchiefs, no hand over mouths etc., etc I truly had my eyes opened at some passengers behaviour. The cruise before ours,Ventura was wick with covid, in fact to the point I had to stop reading about it. All I can say, is good luck with your endeavours in pe rsuing P& O and whoever else may help you.
  6. Yes, wearing medical quality masks the whole 10 days on board. Wanted to do our best for both ourselves and other people. A great pity other passengers weren't in the same mind frame. H onestly, if I could have changed my husband's mind about going, I would have done. Anyhow, it's over now and it would appear safe thus far.
  7. We disembarked Ventura on the 18th 0October and actually it was the comedian who informed us that staff masks were being abandoned. Surprisingly, the next day there were a lot of staff without the masks, but also a lot still wearing them. Pity some of the passengers weren't wearing them, the coughing & sneezing that was taking place. Some passengers could only be described as selfish. We wore them for the whole 10 days and hopefully so far, so good.
  8. Thank you for all your tips regarding a visit to Alaska. We are contemplating this. What would be your recommendations on which type of stateroom to choose please. We have been on Eclipse a few times but never to Alaska. We would be travelling a fair distance to join the ship so would just hate to choose the wrong type of stateroom.
  9. We are currently on Ventura. There must be numerous liars onboard as coughing, sneezing and the likes is constant. We moved to a different table in Waterside yesterday because of a female coughing incessantly on the adjacent table. My husband left the theatre on Monday night because of a man in the row behind coughing virtually on the back of his neck. I have no idea of course if it is a covid related cough, but it is pretty annoying. Don't waste your time downloading Covid passes, doing a LTF or showing your insurance certificate requirements at the cruise terminal as not required and take absolutely no notice of the requirements written in the daily Horizon regarding, mask wearing, photograph ID etc., when visiting the ports of call. Its all such a waste of time and effort. We have never been without our masks, along with a number of other passengers, but it's safe to say, we are in the minority. I really hope our efforts will avoid Covid. Only if its gets better than this would we consider travelling again.
  10. We've had an email from P&O regarding this weekend's sailing on Ventura saying they h ave 'supply challenges'. I have no idea what's coming next!!!!
  11. I can tell you, I was so pleased to read your (and others)comments on the ruling being adhered too. Of course, there will always be the one that doesn't comply, similar to those who bypass the hand sanitizer when entering the d ining venues, look anywhere and everywhere else to avoid them. I think the saying is, you can't educate people who don't want to be educated. Thanks again.
  12. May I ask if, in your opinion, you feel passengers are complying with the mandatory instructions please?
  13. There is no doubt about it, it is a fundamental piece of information and I honestly do think P&O are aware of the situation on their ships. Can your husband remember whether that information was given or not but I suppose, it would be your word against theirs at the end of the day. We have almost decided not to go, it's just not worth it. Then when I've read that all the excursions on this latest trip have been cancelled, well, it's just another warning sign to me anyway.
  14. Thank you so much for your responses. Due to our circumstances I won't be an unhappy passenger because I simply can't be on-board, disappointing as that maybe. Unfortunately, not only P& O take a while to make decisions, but with only 8 days before we are scheduled to leave, time is not on our side. Meanwhile, I'll talk to P&O, Hope for the best and keep checking into CC. Thank you again for assistance so far.
  15. This is not the news I wanted to hear, but am grateful for the update on mask wearing on Ventura. We are/were hoping to join Ventura on the 8th October, N 227 but this latest news is rather un-nerving. Whilst fully vaccinated, my husband is a heart patient, so obviously in the vulnerable catergory and honestly we just can't take any chances whatsoever. I am certainly not looking for a refund, but should the situation remain as it is or indeed worsen, would P&O be likely to issue a FCC given the circumstances.
