Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. These posts are a little dated so brining back around to see if anyone has any updated information. We are currently in B736 for an Alaskan Cruise. We are new to Princess and have never cruised Alaska. We've stayed in Aft cabins before but only had a window, no balcony. Would appreciate any updates or feedback.

    Balcony Usage

And that's the issue. I've talked to 3 different people from Princess (Calling their 1800#) and one of them being a Princess Vacation Planner, and none of them seemed to have a good answer. Like I've stumped them. I feel like this could be an amazing cabin selection for an Alaskan cruise, but I don't care to spend that kind of money with no access to the balcony except on port days. What's the point. Port days are spent at port and not in the room/balcony. I can't find anything on their site about this. One would think it would be a disclaimer on these particular rooms if that was the case.

    Balcony Usage

I was recently told by a CVP with Princess that the very front balconies (example M107 on Royal Princess) isn't able to be used while cruising, only can go out on the balcony on port days. This is for an Alaskan Cruise. Has anyone heard of that?
  4. You're correct about that...however, we are actually is M107...long story on the confusion. Anyway, so the guy from Princess (Vacation Planner) just told me that those balconies are not usable during cruising. We would only be able to use our balcony when at port. Seems like that kind of defeats the purpose of a balcony. Odd that I haven't heard that from any one else tho. Little frustrating to make decisions
  5. So, I was speaking with a Vacation Planner with Princess and he told me that the balcony couldn't be accessed except when we are at port. Doesn't sound like anyone else has experienced that.
  6. Thanks for sharing. Those are amazing and unique views! I'm hopeful for good weather and even if they aren't, we will still have some outstanding views from inside the cabin and all the extra's that go along with the club mini suite. This is the most we've ever spent on a cruise (and we only stay in balcony/suite rooms), so I'm a little nervous, especially since my husband doesn't know yet! lol
  7. Thank you! I thought I read there would be times that they would turn the ship around for viewing from both sides. Our itinerary is as follows: Seattle Juneau Skagway Glacier Bay Viewing Ketchikan Victoria Seattle
  8. Nice Video and I do appreciate you sharing! I would have preferred the port side (M107) but this is all they had. How was the cruise/glacier viewing from that cabin? Would you say both sides would be equally nice? Doesn't really matter I suppose as there wasn't another option, but if I guess I could down grade into a regular balcony to be on the premium side of the ship for cruising. Having never done an Alaskan Cruise or cruised on with Princess, I have a lot of questions and reservations. And this will likely not be a cruise we could book multiple times. Knowing what you know now, would you have changed anything?
  9. Thanks for sharing! I'm hopeful we have decent weather in early September, but we shall see.
  10. Thanks for sharing! I'm hopeful we have decent weather in early September, but we shall see.
  11. Thank you! I'm a little nervous/worried but I guess it's what we make of it. We knew we wanted a balcony and I'm hoping we can at least utilize the balcony.
  12. Thank you! I'm a little worried about the selection and hoping I didn't make a mistake on the selection. I guess weather will be the biggest factor. We are sailing in early September.
  13. That's correct. It's a club class mini suite.
  14. Taking an Alaskan Cruise and was able to snag M108 mini suite. I'm reading mixed reviews on this cabin selection but was curious if anyone has had this room during an alaskan cruise? I know it's windy on the front of the ship, but thats one of my husbands favorite places to go on any ship. With the potential of cold and rain, I didn't feel like this cruise would lends itself to sitting out on the balcony for an extended time anyway. I liked the idea of utilizing this balcony in ports and glacier viewing. Maybe I'm wrong....Anyway, kind of wondering what others thought for this cabin selection for Alaskan cruise. Pics would be amazing!!
