Bringing wine onto port

Yes, I completely agree....so I could see the logic behind it but not sure if it's an "unwritten rule". -
Deluxe Beverage Package

I should also mention that is depends on the itinerary as well for us. For example, if we are doing a weekend cruise to the Bahamas then it makes financial sense for us to get the drink package (since we plan on drinking all weekend long 😂) ...but when we did our Greek Island cruise, we didn't get a drink package because it was a very port intensive itinerary and we had excursions planned every day. Truth be told, by the time we made it back to the boat we were so exhausted and usually called it an early night. -

I think it all depends on the security that day. I know they are supposed to take any bottled liquor and give it back to you at the end of the trip, but there were several times we were allowed to bring it back on. Typically, I always buy a bottle or 2 of Havana Club rum when we stop in Nassau. Out of my last 4 times in Nassau over the past 16 months, only once was it confiscated at security. Every other time they let me grab my bag and continue to my room. The first time it happened, I asked them if they were aware I had bottles of rum, they said yes and that I may proceed with it. Also, these all weren't weekend cruises, some were 7-day Caribbean cruises. Also, on our Greek Island cruise this past summer we went to a vineyard in Sicily and bought a few bottles. Security looked at them but then gave them back to us to bring to our room. So even though I believe they are supposed to take your liquor, there have been several instances where I was able to bring it back on board. I remember talking to somebody at the casino about this and they said it's since I had the drink package (I don't know how true that is). -
Is The Key, VIP access in RCL worth it?
teddybear231 replied to AGE_Texas's topic in Royal Caribbean International
We did a weekend cruise on Freedom of the Seas and it was only an additional $16/person compared to if we bought the internet package, so we did it and found it worth it. We also made the decision to purchase it on our Greek Island cruise this past summer at $37/day. The only reason we did that was because we read about the priority tender access (we had 2 or 3 ports where we tendered). I would definitely say it was worth it, we literally just walked to the gangway and walked past everybody waiting on got on a tender at each port. One time we even had a couple yell at us and call us "cheaters", even though a crew member was escorting us. My wife was embarrassed but I was like they should be embarrassed for yelling at us! So, if you can get it for a few bucks more than your internet package on a short cruise, I'd say go for it. Or if you're doing a tender heavy itinerary, I would also recommend it. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't purchase it at full price on a regular 7 day Caribbean cruise. -
Deluxe Beverage Package

I remember the pre-covid days when I thought the $65/day charge was expensive....boy are those times long gone. I think the cheapest I got was maybe $48/day on a black Friday sale. Now I think if I'm getting it for $78/day I'm getting a deal. -
I brought my 3 year old nephew back on the boat with me when in Coco Cay (we have different last names), and there was no issues.

5 Guests in a Room, different booking numbers?
teddybear231 replied to teddybear231's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Thank you all for reassuring me! -
So we just booked a Ocean View Panaorimic suite on Adventure of the Seas since this cabin holds up to 6 people. This will be our first time traveling as a family of 5, so I was surprised to see how they add the 5th person to the room. When I booked over the phone, I received 2 different confirmation numbers, the 1st one lists the 4 of us, and the 2nd one lists just our infant child. I called back and they told me that everything is fine and both are linked. Is this normal? If you have more than 4 people in a room that allows it, will you receive 2 different confirmation numbers?

We leave this Friday (12/1) on Allure just for the weekend. I wasn't planning on getting the beverage package since this last minute trip was going to be used more to just relax/spend some time in the spa. My wife is 21 weeks pregnant (so we just made this sailing), and now I'm thinking maybe I want to purchase the beverage package once onboard. I know it will be more money than if I purchased in advance, but will they still require me to purchase one for my wife? Or will I have to go to guest services to purchase the beverage package and tell them about our situation?
