Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thank you every one for your inputs. It's very helpful. I think we have to do another cruise just for Greece. For the 2023 summer, we will visit Italy, Spain and France. Happy travels.
  2. Hello, I am planning our first Mediterranean cruise for June 2023 and would like to hear your suggestions of cruiseline and itinerary as the information is overwhelming. We would like to visit Santorini and Rome for sure. What else? Thank you very much.
  3. Just want to share. As of 12:01AM ET on June 12, 2022, CDC will no longer require air passengers traveling from a foreign country to the United States to show a negative COVID-19 viral test or documentation of recovery from COVID-19 before they board their flight. For more information, see Rescission: Requirement for Negative Pre-Departure COVID-19 Test Result or Documentation of Recovery from COVID-19 for all Airline or Other Aircraft Passengers Arriving into the United States from Any Foreign Country. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/international-travel/index.html
  4. My understanding is prior to April 28 (or whatever date that was), a negative test was required to enter Canada. But that requirement was lifted in April. However, lot of people are still unaware that they don't need a test to take this excursion.
  5. Thanks to the recommendation on this boards, I just booked the Yukon Klondide Adventure excursion with Chilkoot Tours for July 30. Prior to booking I noticed that their website shows the 8:30 AM tour was not available. They normally have 2 options: 8:30 and 9:30. So I called and spoke with Stacy (the owner). It turned out they had to cancel the 8:30 tour and combine it with the 9:30 since they only have a few passengers booked. Stacy said that lot of passengers called and told her they wanted to cancel because they don't want to take a COVID test for this excursion. She said the testing requirement is killing their business, but unfortunately many visitors are not aware that they don't need to test to enter Canada anymore. If you are interested in this your and would like to do the 8:30 excursion, please add a note in the comment section. If they have enough passengers interested in the 8:30 trip, they would move the tour to 8:30. As of now, only the 9:30 slot is open for booking. It's sad to hear these business still suffering from COVID. I hope her company will have more customers soon.
  6. @martincath Glad to hear you are doing well. Thank you very much for a very detailed reply. You are such a great resource for all of us fellow cruisers, as always. I greatly appreciate it. We currently have some home test kits (iHealth Labs) we received complimentary in the US but I have noticed their website always shows "sold out" for the remote COVID test service observation. Thank you for the link to Rapid Test & Trace. You just solved my problem. Have a fantastic day.
  7. Hi Martincath - Hope you're doing well. Thank you for this information. Can you please let me know how to reserve a "remote observation" (aka proctor) in Vancouver? My family will arrive in Vancouver on a southbound Alaskan cruise with Princess, but we will stay in Vancouver the night of disembarkation day and will fly back to the U.S. the next day. I like the idea of doing the self-test. Thank you for your help as always.
