Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. This. We did a 9:30 check in time on the Celebration once. And we sat there until boarding at 10:45. Never again. We get there to sit down in the waiting area no earlier than 10:30.
  2. And people wonder why there are so many scooters on Carnival ships.
  3. It should say on the offer. Something like for you. Or, for you and a companion. If it just says you, it’s likely just you.
  4. The pig and anchor on deck 8 is usually not busy on embarkation day. We head there right after muster drill.
  5. We have done that several times. I don’t know of a way to do that before boarding. We always just get extra cabin cards once on board. It requires carrying two cards for the people not staying in their assigned cabin, but we haven’t found it to be a big deal. There may be a better way. But we are too lazy and this works fine.
  6. Agree. This last week, people were lined up at 8:15 to get in and the doors weren’t even open until shortly before 9:00. If you didn’t get a seat then, you were standing. And there were a ton of people standing.
  7. I’ve seen them. Talent is fine. Entertaining is more important to me. But that part is super subjective. I’m not going to judge who people like to see. Lots of the soloist around the ships are very talented. Some are very entertaining.
  8. If you mean the guy who is on there now, he was unwatchable. Because it was so crowded. By far the best piano bar entertainer. Even though he did play the Alice song. But hey, if people are going to pay him to play it, I’m not gonna argue.
  9. Piano bar is hit or miss for me depending on the entertainer. Mostly miss. But the piano bar regulars can crack me up. People making fun of non regulars asking for Sweet Caroline and then requesting that god awful Alice song like it’s some cool kid inside joke. It’s not. It’s terrible.
  10. I would also do the Celebration. Now, maybe that’s because I just don’t put much value in the Havana area on any ship. Both are great so I don’t think it’s a no Brainer. But the added dining options and bars give the celebration the edge for me.
  11. It’s hard to know what level of crowd will cause her anxiety but I’ve been on the Celebration several times now (on it as a write this) and for as big as the ship is, I feel less crowded than smaller ships. I think that’s mainly because there are a lot of areas on the ship instead of everyone funneled to the same area. Avoid the main lido and take the forward or aft elevators as much as possible. On the first day, I suggest going to the far back of the ship. Deck 8 at the Pig and Anchor area for example. But the first day always seems crowded until cabins are open at 1:30. I can’t help much with the mobility issue other than there are a lot of scooters I see. People don’t seem to complain much other than elevator slowness.
  12. Yes. My PvP botched a casino offer and it took a lot of effort to fix it. It was at that exact moment I realized I don’t need a PvP so I don’t use one. That mess up would have cost me more than any benefit she ever provided.
