Has anybody from the UK had an upsell?
No still waiting

So I'm paying a daily gratuity then another lets say 18 percent for that service and then maybe another 18 percent to bar tender for a drink that I already paid gratuity to. To a staff that is working there shift (that I'm tipping on). Well we,are, generous tippers but not at 38 percent.
On our next cruise gratuities are plus 15% of the cost of the cruise before we get on board
That's why I added 'personally'. We only vacation a few times a year, and don't really worry about incidental costs. :) -
Have just been told I will lose my deposit of £1500 or over $2000 as we will be unable to travel due to my daughter being pregnant as they will lnot let a baby on board under six months they said they would let me rebook I would have to pay a premium price about over £3000 more than what is on the website

yup,as many Royal cruises as we have taken, we now shop between Royal, Princess and Celebrity. Whoever gives us the best bang for the buck gets our business. We did Regal Princess in Dec for less than Royal and it included the bev pkg. Doing Celebrity Summit in April for the same reason. So for our longer cruises, we most likely will do Celebrity or Princess as we get more for our $$ than royal is giving us. We get top perks on all 3 lines so that has zero influence in deciding between the 3 lines
That's how we look at it now

That's correct, however there are a couple of workarounds.
If you originally booked direct, via Royal's website, you can cancel yourself once you are onboard. You can do this for free as Royal's website can be accessed without charge onboard.
You can book the same exact category onboard that you had booked pre-cruise. Then cancel the original booking later and change the stateroom for the new booking to the one from the original booking.
Does also go for us in the UK

I believe the UK booking rules would cause a loss of deposit if you cancel the cruise.
Yes once you booked in UK you lose your deposit

Yes no need to be loyal to Royal will only book now if I get a good deal and a drinks package thrown in otherwise I would be looking for other cruise companies
