  1. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ROY. I WISH FOR YOU MANY MORE.
  2. Welcome Home, Rich. Welcome home Zuiderdam and all the World Cruisers. Special thanks to all of you who wrote about your trip. Those threads were great fun to read.
  3. Up early to watch parts of the Coronation. My second one. I was 11 when I watched the first one.
  4. Try Farm Bureau. You don't have to have a farm. Almost every town has an agent.
  5. Your blog is a really remarkable recounting of your trip. Thank you for sharing it with us. Just great and fun to read.
  6. Thank you for your interesting comments, especially about the African ports. Congratulations on your continued success and enjoyment of Trivia.
  7. There is usually more on offer than you indicate. Horseback riding for example. I would suggest you check with the shore excursion desk as soon as you board and/or as soon as it is open. Some friends of ours recently took the excursion of swimming with the rays...last month in fact. I hope you can find that there is more available. Good Luck and have a great cruise.
  8. Enjoy your posts. Great fun to read. Please keep them coming....and have a great time.
  9. The lower in the ship, the better....and midship always
  10. MSC overnights there on most, if not all, of their Bahamas/Caribbean cruises. There is a dock. Not sure about night-time activities other than on the ship itself.
  11. For what it is worth, I drink almost noting except a lot of water and I find the tap water on the newer HAL ships very good...and the price is okay as well.
  12. Thanks for sharing your cruise. We'll be watching all along the way. Safe Trip.
  13. Looking forward to following along as well. Thanks for taking the time and effort to share your cruise with us.
  14. HAPPY NEW YEAR, Everyone. Reading this thread this year has been great fun. Thanks to you all.
  15. We liked the library on Rotterdam, but agree that it has wasted space and not enough seating. When we were there, almost every one of the few chairs was taken. However, I'm glad the ship has a library. We often go to the Crow's Nest in the mornings and read there. There is some slight noise, but not enough to disturb us...and the Bloody Mary is nice.
  16. Did some research before moving here. This seemed like a reasonably safe place to escape freezing winter weather. So far, so good. It has worked out well and a lovely community.
  17. MERRY CHRISTMAS Everyone. 35 Degrees here this morning in Winter Haven, cold for us, but not too bad compared to most of the country.
  18. Great type face. I use it all the time. Looks very good in your posts. Thanks again.
  19. Thank you for keeping us posted along the way. Great fun for us to read and share your trip. Stay safe and have a grand time.
  20. In one sense, that's what it already is. We'll probably see the day when it is $20.00 per day or more.
  21. I've been told by some members of staff that the comments are worth as much as the tip. That they be singled out and mentioned it very important. The "crew appreciation" is in fact a hotel service charge administered by the company.....mostly as part of compensation....the cost of which they have passed on directly to the passengers. It most certainly, in my opinion, is not a tip.
  22. Unless there's an expiration date, I'd expect you could use it later. We used one on a recent cruise. Not much of a drink, no choice and it came in an odd small glass . If you don't use it, you probably won't miss much.
  23. While we almost never use the main dining room and do not benefit from the services of the dining room staff, we would never consider adjusting them out of the daily crew appreciation amount. However, I'm not thrilled with the constant increases in the daily amount of the gratuity...if that's what you call it now. I've always suspected it was a move on HAL's part to shift some of the payroll burden to the passengers through the daily gratuity charge, but I may be wrong about that. We really don't care. We just want HAL to survive financially. We always enjoy our time on the ships.
