Hi Josey.  I think I have a workaround solution.  Try choosing the color, first, then writing the text.  You should see it then.

Hi!  that is what i am trying to do, and it works, but I wanted to change color and font size......as you will see in my signature, I am working on it!   thank you.  My signature is under construction.  Good thing i don't have many really pressing things to do right now--

Not gnome... and I am only guessing at what might be happening... but you might try holding down the “Shift” key when hitting the “Return” key for a new line.  The new forum seems to be defaulting to double line spacing when you hit the “Return” key.  Holding down the “Shift” key at the same time forces it to default to one line.  Hope this helps.

thank you ms G.I have made my sig very short (too short now). Would you know how i get color into it? I see the cap. A and someone said that means i can use color, but i tried and it didn't come out. Forgive me, but i am a very low tech person.

  3. I went on a cruise. I got addicted to cruising. Not that I cruise that often, but when not cruising, scheming how to schedule one or fantasizing about the one I did manage to book. Got back from my first solo cruise two weeks ago. New addiction. Will go on my next solo cruise in less than 6 weeks.

I understand! I understand! you are certainly not alone....(even tho you are alone) .but not everyone understands....especially people who don't cruise. My second cruise was 6 weeks after the first. Enjoy your next solo cruise---i am sure you will.

  4. Yes, you are the one who lead me tothis forum, and you are on the thread (Princess) where the person said that about Carnival (which i affectionately call Cannibal). I mean, saying a cruise line is in "the toilet" is ridiculous. He put down MSC too, and my brother loves MSC, I had a problem or 2 with them, but i would never ever say the line is "in the toilet".

As i said before on this thread, I Hate Carnival Bashers!! My trans atlantic with them was terrific!

And I like singing waiters and waving napkins in the air! People enjoy it. It is festive. You really feel like you are in the ocean and sharing it with everyone else there.

I hope you enjoy the Cuba cruise with Carnival, and things don't go downhill til then.

  5. Hi everyone,

On another thread i am on, this person referred to carnival as "the toilet". I am incensed, but don' t know what to tell her/him, because i don't want to start a fight. Anyone who says that insults all of us who love (or at least like) Carnival. It insults me, because i am platinum on Carnival, so she thinks my trips are in "the toilet". What a crappy (pardon the pun) thing to say about any cruise line! Truly none that i have been on nowhere near THAT bad!

  6. In my 16 years of cruising i have never heard the term "Walmart of the Seas", and i'm not crazy about it. Don't think it applies. Not in my environment on Carnival cruises.....

In NYC where i live, we don't have Walmart, and going to one is almost like a treat! Just like going on just about any cruise, except if some horrible thing happens, or youre stuck in a storm or something......

  7. Other things i love about Carnival: Skyride on Vista and Horizon!! Larger cabin than other lines Consistently good food in MDR, reasonable price for what you are getting, Blue Iguana, great staff, Tea Time, String Trio, singing waiters.......great beds, esp on horizon and Vista.....that's why I'm Platinum.

And I do count cruising adventures in my blessings!

  8. Hi.

Love Carnival, but love other lines too! Guys is good, but i am more impressed with and enjoy more the Blue Iguana. I can eat one of their burritos for lunch every day.....absolutely delicious, and just how you want it. Not impressed with Pig and Anchor, but i know many people like it.

Forgot to mention when they asked for my comments on my Horizon transatlantic the STRING TRIO, which was SO nice.....and how about tea time? carnival does that almost as well as Cunard.

One thing that has disappeared that was very nice was finding things like razors, nice shampoo or lotion in a sealed bag in your room when you arrived. Little on board cabin gifts. That went away years ago, but was so nice.....you could take it home if you wanted. Just added a little more "class". i cant see that it would cost them so much to have that now----

Don't care about the missing chocolate by my bed at night....don't miss that at all. but i know some do.

And i dislike Carnival bashers too!! You never hear so much bashing of other lines.....they think Carnival is just a big party ship for teenyboppers.....certainly it isnt. Especially a transatlantic, of which i've been on 2 of Carnival. In general, Carnival has the same sort of clientele as Royal or Norwegian, approximately.

  9. Canarsie in the House and BRC (Brownsville Recreation Center) is where workout. I guess I'm mulit-community, :D

    Hi Ramona,

thanks for writing back! I guess you are now cruise-addicted like most of us on here..... I am impressed that you are taking that South American journey. Just booked Regal Princess (It is like Royal) for a trip from Brooklyn-Florida by way of the Caribbean, but it's not solo.

I am familiar with Canarsie. Is the BRC on Linden Blvd?

  10. Congratulations Attilamom. I have not been to the Baltic countries yet. It sounds like you had a great and rewarding time.

Virtopia, I hope you love your transatlantic as much as i have loved mine. I have done 4.

And a 49 night cruise around South America? wow! wish i could go too. Lucky you! not the pest- Hey, I'm from Brooklyn too!

  11. We ended our day with the ice show. It was very good, but not my favorite ice show on Royal. The costumes are not as spectacular as we have seen on other ships, but the skaters were excellent!

Hi! The skaters were representing Toulouse Latrec......in the blue coat costumes. Thanks for capturing me and my husband sitting in the front row too! joseyP

  12. Just out of interest regarding the studios on NCL, i have seen many videos of them on Youtube and they look right up my street.

One thing though, i have not seen on any of these videos, anywhere to sit other than the bed. Are there any chairs in these cabins so one can sit and read a book, or is it the bed only? For me this would be a dealbreaker, regards.

There is a little bench by the vanity. So that is something. I have visited a studio cabin. It is small, but has everything you need.....and there is the lounge.

  13. Just booked yesterday for May 2019, 14 night Baltic Heritage cruise out of Southhampton on Sapphire Princess followed by a b2b 7 night Norwegian Fjords cruise on the same ship. It seems a long way out, but I’ve had both cruises on my travel list and I’m happy to be able to do both with only one flight.

Princess is currently running a promo called Landmark Sale until June 19th on some cruises with generous onboard credit. Solos entitled to double the onboard credit.

Oh Gosh, this trip sounds so wonderful. I wish i could do it. I have cruised over 30 times, yet have never done a back to back. Norway is wonderful, but so expensive. A Baltic cruise is also high on my "want to do" list.

You have a great trip to look forward to.

  14. I just got the last Studio Cabin on the NCL Breakaway Baltic Cruise on June 25,2018. Its my 30th birthday present to myself. My 2nd solo cruise (1st was NCL Epic Mediterranean over 2 years ago) and 15th overall.

Congratulations. it sounds great. Wish i could do a baltic cruise, but not yet! I have a transatlantic next month. You found cruising young. Hope you have a great time. You better start preparing for it. Make sure you get on your roll call.
