That would be hilarious except my husband had a humongous calcium pill stuck in his throat this week . Coughing and coughing didn’t bring it up so I drove him to the ER or what I now call the waiting room . They wouldn’t even give him some water . We left after 1 1/2 hours . I know they triage the patients but still .

You do what you gotta do if you want it badly enough. My friend rode Amtrak from San Diego to NYC round trip . She spent 12 days riding the rails . In NYC she took the subway to get around . Why didn’t she fly ? She was walking to a restaurant to celebrate her birthday and when she stepped off the curb her shoe caught the uneven pavement and she fell flat on her face . She broke both wrists and suffered a stroke when her head hit the ground. Can’t fly ! Her wrists have healed however she has suffered another stroke and she has recovered from that too.

We last cruised on Cunard in 2019 and it was a classy ocean liner with standards of dress and cerebral entertainment . I’ve mentioned before when we lived in Valencia , CA the US offices of Cunard and Princess were 3 miles from my home . I’ll be watching the US Open tennis championships from Queens today. Have you been when you were healthy ? I’m amazed that some matches ended at 1:30 AM . Why so late ? Djokovic is sure to win .

My TA prints the final documents, luggage tags + holders and hands them to me in a wallet with a logo on it , of course. There’s a thread on cc on saving money . It was started in 2008 (?) and there’s one comment about a person being so frugal that she wouldn’t buy a stapler to affix her luggage tags to her bags . She taped them and it backfired.

I’m glad you did give us a mini-analysis of the RCI financial report. Now , I’m curious as to where they do their food shopping . I bought “ The Idiot’s Guide to Behavioral Economics “ thinking it would provide info on how customers are lured into buying stuff and more stuff. The joke is on me because it’s more scholarly than I thought . No quick hacks there !

I’ve never sailed on Carnival cruise line before so no comment . Haven’t you done that itinerary just recently with your grandkids? Been there , done that! We sailed on the Koningsdam this past January to Hawaii from and return to San Diego . It’s an older crowd and the advantage is no kids . There is a deck devoted to music venues and we especially liked the Lincoln Center quartet. We tried the B B King music hall . It was too loud . We were not interested in anything else as my husband likes classical music and opera . The food was okay . We signed up for Club Orange and had our own dining room and upgraded cabin . We ate at two premium restaurants and the food was delicious and the presentation was very nice. The shows were not up to RCI standards in variety and quality. There were a few that dealt with Hawaii , of course. Major complaint and it’s big : We contracted Covid the last four days and were forced to sit in a room of over 100 people waiting for wheelchair assist because of my husband’s bum knee . I finally went up to the person charge and complained and we were evacuated immediately. I would cruise with HAL , again. And as my geometry teacher told the class in high school many years ago …. Only boring people are bored . We are sailing the Pacific coastal this month and in Astoria we are opting to tour Tillamook and the Oregon coast.

I agree about the Met museum in NYC . We have plans to visit the Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle. Are you familiar with it ? After seeing his glass flowers at the Bellagio I want to see more. -

Very nice photo ! We’ll be in Victoria next month and I opted for the BC Museum and city highlights tour because we’ve never been to Victoria. It looks like a fabulous and peaceful place to relax and enjoy the scenery.
