  1. OMG... Hilarious, I must have dipped into the Cheers pre-cruise... Yup, percentage signs are not the same as dollar signs... 🤣🤣🤣
  2. Also, "Up To" 10% off infers all amounts from $0 to $10.
  3. OBC can be requested for cruises that start by July 31 2024.
  4. Funny that when people get away with something, especially if more than once, that they treat that as the rule rather than the exception.
  5. From John Heald, 5 days ago: "This is one of those times where I need to respectfully and very kindly ask those that have permission to go directly to the cabin to drop off that carry on bags to please do just that, drop them off. This is of course for guests, who are diamond, Platinum, staying in a suite or have Faster to the Fun. The cabin attendant is not “ being rude” by asking you to leave and not allowing you to unpack. They need to clean your cabin, they need to do it to the highest of standards and then they have to move onto the next one So please do just drop off the bags and then please go and enjoy lunch etc. Cheers"
  6. They have a QR code... Not everyone likes using a phone... some like the old fashion method of doing things.

  8. Well, you have to shop. We took advantage of the $100 pp OBC they were offering for our upcoming cruises... We booked thru a Big Box and received a few hundred dollars in cash-back incentives for each cruise, so I count that as a price reduction as well. They are $32 billion in debt, so it's not so easy to offer a lot of incentives. The people who brag about their casino incentives and pricing are sure pretty tight-lipped about how much their cruise really costs. Casinos are not staying open and offering those rates because they are giving money away... 😉
  9. Oh... that reminds me, speaking of painful... They really need to do a better job of vetting the wait staff that they have sing in the MDR. There's some great voices out there... but I've also had to bare some pretty bad singing.
  10. I don't eat cake, so can't don't have an opinion on the deserts. However, I've been very pleased with their bread selection, quality, and taste.
  11. All baked goods are made from scratch... bread, cakes, etc.
  12. Under 'Program Restrictions', 5th bullet point down: If the program is purchased prior to the cruise, it is refundable up to 9:00pm ET, the evening prior to the cruise departure. Otherwise, CHEERS! is non-refundable. carnival.com/help?topicid=1106
  13. Carnival did a software release a couple weeks ago and the site has been crap ever since. It even has a disclaimer at the top explaining this. I'm sure they are working on a new release that will fix the issues. Your best bet is to just call Carnival and book it over the phone. It's pretty quick and easy.
  14. I want to know how much y'all lose in the casino to get those free drinks. The Casino is not offering these cruise packages because they feel like being generous. On my last cruise, I was talking with some folks in the pool and mentioned that I'm doing a back-to-back cruise. They said that they wouldn't be able to afford a B2B cruise because they couldn't afford a 2nd week of gaming in the casino.
  15. If you're not having fun on a Carnival Cruise... it's your own dang fault !
  16. Yup... it's always the pier runners and the pier jumpers that keep the ship from departing on time... 🤣
  17. Don't ask the question... Experience the question and decide for yourself.
  18. Well, a Grand Suite is about the same price as two balconies. You would maintain your privacy if you each had a balcony stateroom. You could always ask that the balcony divider be opened between staterooms if you want a larger balcony experience.
  19. Sunday, October 8 is the last day you can purchase Cheers before the price increases (for cruises 5-days or less). The new higher price start October 9.
  20. Not all bartenders make a martini (or any cocktail for that matter) the same. Some take shortcuts, like a quick shake and pour. Some are too heavy or too light on the vermouth. Some might give you multiple olives, others just one. It does make a difference which bar and bartender you go to. I like Mai Tai's made a specific way, so I go out of my way to find the bartender who makes a perfect Mai Tai to my liking. Let me tell you... it's all over the board for such a simple drink.
  21. What is on the Boarding Pass to indicate that you are Diamond, Platinum, FTTF, etc. for priority boarding ? After check-in at the terminal, everyone is seated, waiting for clearance to start boarding. Then a Carnival representative starts boarding passengers -- He calls out for Diamond A01 - A05 to board. I see him look at the boarding pass as people funnel by him. What exactly is on the Boarding Pass to indicate they are Diamond, and not just Platinum trying to sneak by ? Does the boarding pass have "Daimond" printed on it ? Does the boarding pass have "Platinum" printed on it ? Does the boarding pass have "FTTF" printed on it ? Anyone have a photo of a Diamond or Platinum boarding pass?
  22. $5 difference. For cruises 6 days or longer: Purchase before boarding: $59.95 + 18% gratuity pp = $70.74 pp Purchase after boarding: $64.95 + 18% gratuity pp = $76.64 pp For cruises 5 days or less: Purchase before boarding: $69.95 + 18% gratuity pp = $82.54 pp Purchase after boarding: $74.95 + 18% gratuity pp = $88.44 pp
  23. If she's Gold, then she's a veteran who won't have questions regarding checking in at the port. There were five rooms on our last cruise... all different check-in times at the port. Wasn't an issue meeting up... we just kept in contact via text messaging. I wouldn't give it another thought... probably less than an hour's difference in getting aboard.
