  1. Hello all,

We have been to all the shopping shows and stopped in at the "prefered" stores.  We are looking at purchasing some jewelry, nothing super expensive, maybe a nicer ring and a watch (Omega, Hublot, Longines, etc...).

What are the benefits to purchasing on a cruise, or the ports at stores such as Diamonds International (etc.)?  How reputable are these places?  Do we get any perks from the cruise ship or shopping host for purchasing while on the cruise?

    Thanks

Forgive me. I’m an Oceania regular and new to NCL.

We are traveling with people who have young children, and in specialty restaurants they want to eat early and we like late.

They’re dragging their feet to make their reservations and we’re ready to go.

if we make our reservations online now and change our minds and decide to join them, are we locked into times we initially request?

If not can I change them online or do I have to wait until we board?

Thanks very much for your help.

No.  This is “freestyle” cruising.  Lol.   To my understanding NCL keeps open a percentage of tables in each restaurant for online booking and another for onboard bookings (in person, TV, public screens by elevators).   If others have better insight please let us know as we want to change a reservation also and it’s full online.

  3. If your husband is a “poker player” then any of the cruise lines general poker games or tourneys will not meet his standards.   Even the WPT and WSOP events in the past were still full of non-players.   This isn’t the Bellagio, Caesars or Aria piker rooms.  Good luck but I never seen NCL Poker Challenge that was in a separate room.
    The Encore is smoke free.

  4. A consideration is what cruise line are you going to be on?    Some are more formal than others.   We are on Royal and NCL in the next couple months, both times the Mrs. will be in a cocktail dress, and I will be in a dark suit.   I haven't broken out a tuxedo as I only rent one for an annual charity event for my company.   We have seen very few "formal" dresses on Royal and NCL even on Valentines.   IMO- you bought it, you wear it.  Overdressed is better than under dress.

  5. Thanks for posting, we are going on the Encore in February.   Can you provide details of the cabin crawl?  How it works, and what was the difference between NCL's participation on the Bliss and the Encore?   Sounds like fun, but never obviously never participated in one.

    Thanks

  6. I'm 70 days out from my cruise on the Escape on February 17 but have not received any communication from NCL about bidding on an upgrade. Is there any way to get on the list to bid for an upgrade if you do not get an email from NCL?

    Thanks

The only communication I received was by checking the NCL website and messages after logging in.

    Good luck.

  7. Received the email for the Upgrade Advantage program. We are passing as the minimum bids don't seem to be worth the upgrades.

Currently in a spa-balcony, minimum bid to upgrade to a Haven Spa Suite with Balcony is $400 per person and maximum offer is $2,000 per person. All other upgrade offers don't provide access to Thermal Spa.

    Good luck to those bidding!
