  1. Well, now you know that you can just scroll on by the updates, saving yourself a shipload of wasted time. πŸ‘πŸ» Some of us are thoroughly enjoying the writing style of spenecer, and look for the next installment/chapter of their adventure.
  2. Definitely in the Pinnacle on the Rotterdam. A second appetizer is $7+18% gratuity. But the candied bacon was worth it! Personally, I could make a meal out of appetizers. And bread. πŸ˜‰
  3. Maybe its the Rotterdam. I had the same thing in October when we sailed.
  4. Hot water from the machines in the Lido is HOT πŸ”₯! I had a 24 oz metal travel mug (someone picked it up on the Rotterdam in January when hubby set it down 😭) and I often would add some cold water when I made my tea because the water was basically boiling.😯
  5. Yes, I needed to check in for our Zaandam repositioning cruise, and did so last night. I had to "find" my cruise to do so. But now checked in and I guess it is time to pack!
  6. Different Podunk for us-between Tillsonburg and London. With the lack of WJ flights to/from London these days, I think that I will grab my last flight and move to something else for my credit card. Too bad....I used to put all my travel expenses on that cc.
  7. Yes. Each persons credit card is associated with their own key card. Charges will go on to whatever credit card is associated with that key card. Hubby and I use the same credit card, but you can see which charges are his and which are mine.
  8. Just a headsup. If you connect with Westjet through YYZ, you are gifted the eternal walk under the tarmac to get to/from the commuter gate. I hate that walk. 😑 (I looked PoDunk up too, wondering if it was close to my village outside of London.)
  9. I've loaded pictures the past two trips for both hubby and me. And both times, hubby passed right on through, and I was hauled aside and had to retake the picture. Not sure if it was because it was a selfie (so backwards) or not.
  10. What a terrible accident. It is comforting to know that the captain and fellow passengers were so thoughtful and caring for all of the crew at this dreadful time. Prayers for all.
  11. If you go on the Princess site and search their cruises, you'll get a phone call from one of their CSRs later in the day. 🀣 If you go to their promotions page you'll see a 35% off link. That is pretty much Canadian at par. And according to this article, it looks like it is what we are looking for. https://www.travelweek.ca/news/princess-cruises-launches-at-par-deal-for-canadian-residents/ https://www.princess.com/cruise-deals-promotions/
  12. We used the Platinum insurance when DH tested positive for COVID before our Alaska cruise. Everything that was owed to us went back on to our credit card/gift cards that were used for the payments. FCD that we'd paid for were put back into the system. It was done quickly and we were pleased.
  13. Good morning from sunny, cold southwestern Ontario. Alexa says it's snowing, but it is not. The temperature never warmed up past 0ΒΊC yesterday, so the driveway is still icy. Penguin walking to get the blue boxes and garbage bin. Prayers for those that need them, cheers for those celebrating (Happy Birthday Roy), and hugs for all.
  14. Can you explain how the bid on AC works? I was unsure the last time I flew with them, and didn't want to mess up what I already have. If I buy a ticket, and choose my seat, I can bid on an upgrade at that point? I find the AC site confusing, even to prebuy food πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ but with being shunned by WestJet living in Ontario I will likely book AC for all future flights.
  15. A quick check in to say that, once again, we lucked out. 15 km south of us, the power went out, but we didn't. We got some snow, after the freezing rain, but not a lot-maybe 10 cm or so. DH just came in from chipping the ice off the front porch and steps. It's supposed to get warmer so the driveway could clear out, but we shall see. Thanks to everyone on the thread. The pictures are stunning, and the jokes make one smile. Condolences to those who have suffered a loss, and prayers for those going through problems of the mind, body and soul. @kochleffel I've been that person taking pictures of the cats and dogs on every tour. 🀣 Fingers crossed that the 3 a.m. club can move a little later in the early morning. Have a wonderful day!
  16. Good morning. Just popping by to say 'hi' and let you know that I do still lurk. πŸ˜‰ Thanks to all that have kept this thread going! @ottahand7I miss those eggs benedict! @marshhawk I am so sorry about Neko. We had to make that decision in December and it was a hard one to be sure. Hugs to you! We are waiting for the ice storm here. We've been lucky and the storms have passed us by every time this season, but I don't think we'll be so lucky this time. Stay safe and warm!
  17. Ruth, I think you've done inside on the various classes. I've done inside on the Koningsdam, but that was a few years ago. We're inside on the Zandaam in August. How are those inside rooms on the Zaandam? It will be strange to be on the smaller ship, since we've only done Zuiderdam and the three Pinnacle ships. We'll actually have a trial run on the Volendam Vista suite in April. Can't wait to compare the ships! We had the crumb thing brought out on the Rotterdam MDR at breakfast or lunch in January. I was pleasantly surprised. πŸ™‚
  18. We visited that space on the Koningsdam when it was the test kitchen. I loved watching (and tasting) the creations that were made there.
  19. I love when I call Disney and am put on hold. I get to sing my way to a customer service rep.
  20. We were on the Rotterdam (10 days) early in the month. Prior to boarding, we had "Casual" dress across the board. We ended up with 1 casual, 2 dressy, and the rest smart casual. HTH
  21. We are booked on this one next year. I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences! Is a self-monitored test accepted? [I'm hoping that it is for our Panama cruise in April]
  22. Holland America's largest ships look to be similar to your Jewel of the Seas for capacity. They have the Music Walk with rock, blues, classical, and piano bar every day. HAL is trending at probably 55 for an average age these days. Your term of "ancient decrepits" is offensive, to say the least.
  23. I messaged Lifecenters last week through Facebook and asked whether they were still doing virtual testing. The answer was no, they have paused that operation for the time being. HTH
  24. Sending wishes for a speedy recovery, Roy. Take care!
  25. Hoping that they are done for August when we are on board. I'll be able to check out the Volendam showers in April. ❀️
