  1. We have sailed Princess 35 times since 2003. We think the experience is better now. We are finishing a 15 day Panama Canal cruise on the NCL Joy. NCL recently raised the gratuity 25% while reducing crew salary and cutting evening turndown. NCL just announced their production shows are too expensive, so they are cutting them. I paid $250 for unlimited internet that doesn’t include streaming. While we have had a great time, we are looking forward to next months cruise on the Discovery Princess where unlimited internet will be included in our plus package and order room service from our app at no charge.
  2. Then there wasn’t much point in you responding to this thread. "For many of our guests, it has become more and more important to maintain the type of connectivity at sea that they've become accustomed to at home, and of course to share the unforgettable experiences of their cruise with friends and family," said Josh Weinstein, CEO of Carnival Corporation. "We are in the business of delivering happiness, and Starlink makes it as easy as possible for our guests to share all their great moments and memories, giving them even more joy out of their cruise vacation."
  3. I have a friend who is a bit self conscious about his baldness.
  4. I wouldn’t enjoy it either. In fact, after 35 Princess cruises I don’t think I have ever seen it.
  5. Hopefully is the key word. I’m not going anywhere, I just don’t trust press releases. I am currently on a 15 day Panama Canal cruise on the NCL Joy. Internet has rarely exceeded 2 Mbps. My plan that does not include streaming cost $229. I believed if I had wanted streaming, it would have been $379.
  6. I haven’t been able to use a VPN or a travel router in the last several attempts. In fact, internet is so slow, it probably wouldn’t work very well if it did work.
  7. I haven’t noticed anything on the cruises I have been on. Europe, Alaska, Coastal, and next month Discovery. All in the 1-2 Mbps down range. Not to mention last years Enchanted Princess cruises in Europe. And don’t forget the TAs. Also, Princess keeps saying they are the fastest at sea when they aren’t. https://www.princess.com/ships-and-experience/ocean-medallion/medallionnet/
  8. Seems like I have heard this before. https://www.rivieramm.com/news-content-hub/news-content-hub/carnival-commits-key-brand-to-gigabyte-vsat-connectivity-57865
  9. We are currently on the NCL Joy. People who want to dress up can do so on this cruise. It's called Freestyle where people can pretty much dress the way they want and and most people are happy about it.
  10. We had a minisuite on the Crown Princess last November-E731. It had the motion lights. We have E731 on the Sapphire Princess in May. I’ll be better prepared this time.

  13. CDC has a bit of a lower estimate. https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/campaign/tips/resources/data/cigarette-smoking-in-united-states.html Percentage of persons aged ≥18 years who reported cigarette use “every day” or “some days” at time of survey and reported smoking at least 100 cigarettes during their lifetime. 14. Same here, mainly because we eat early. Usually quite a crowd waiting when we are leaving. Our preference is a real table for two (not bench) with the same servers. We have been able to do that on most of our cruises (6) since reopening.
  15. I don't know. Have you tried a google search for ports large cruise ships cannot visit?
  16. The contracts for the Sun class were made before the pandemic. Current Princess ships are having trouble staffing 2 MDRs out of three. How are they going to staff even bigger ships with multiple dining rooms. The bigger the ship, the fewer the ports it can visit. The Cabana cabins look to be a deluxe balcony with an unknown use attached space. What is the Cabana good for? Actually, I am not going to get into all the reasons I think the Sun will be a failure. Plenty of posts before me. Also, the only current Princess ship I haven't sailed on is the Sky Princess.
  17. Have you looked at the menu? https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/Onboard_Experience/Crown-Grill-Menu-Sample.pdf As vegetarians, we do better at Sabatinis.
  18. Royal, Regal, Enchanted, Discovery have Crooners. Majestic targeted Asian market, so just the Sky was screwed up. IMO, the Sun class is going to be a disaster even with Crooners.
  19. The only time we enjoy meeting others is after a few drinks. Otherwise, we don't go to Meet & Greets or Sailaways. We always request tables for two, even at the Most Traveled Luncheon.
  20. I was also on the Enchanted in July and was told it was closed for technical reasons. I was on the Crown in November and was told it had been closed since May. I will be on the Discovery in February and have been told it is open. Let's hope so. I was on the Enchanted last Spring and really enjoyed lunch with a Beyond Burger and Guinness.
  21. Looked at the fine print of the current BSE sale. Have the terms always been "Credit must be used on the single voyage that it was awarded in connection with, is not redeemable for cash, cannot be used in the casino, is not applicable during the land portion of cruisetours, and expires at the end of that voyage."
  22. I did the ropes course on the NCL Getaway. Quite a challenge. Looking forward to the Sun’s version.
  23. We also filed claims in August for "trip interruption reimbursement from Aon and the per diem for food from Princess." My CVP called someone in the know who suggested I send an email to customerrelations@princesscruises.com with the subject line marked ATTN: POST CRUISE ESCALATION. While I'm as upset as anybody I'm not going to shoot myself in the foot by cancelling cruises.
  24. I've always been fine with gals wearing the bare minimum.
