  1. We used to take suitcases. Now we each take a backpack and a carryon. Instead of a suit for formal night I bring a lightweight sport coat just do I don’t standout too much. We really like NCL’s Freestyle approach. We just did a NCL cruise and we’re impressed (as always by the entertainment), but also by the improvements in service and dining. We are embarking on a Princess cruise now and I hope they have also tried to improve in those areas. Otherwise I think it is going to be NCL.
  2. I deleted the app and reinstalled the latest update 4.6.1 that is supposed to make improvements to my experience. I think it has.
  3. After removing and reinstalling I think the latest update 4.6.1 is an improvement that works pretty good.
  4. Four days to go to my next cruise and i just updated the Medallion App to Version 4.6.1 "We've improved the Princess MedallionClasss. In this update, you will see that we have removed PlayOcean and made improvements to your experience." Not!
  5. I think Princess has gotten a lot of mileage out of the original Love Boat. I have to wonder what they were thinking with their promotion of the Real Love Boat.
  6. This is somewhat encouraging. My wife tested positive the last night of our cruise on August 4 and we were both told to isolate in our cabin. The next morning we were transported to a hotel near Heathrow Airport. We were also given her positive test report and each a letter with the date we left isolation on the ship. Princess paid for five days in the hotel, but since we couldn't fly back to the US until 10 days from the positive test we paid for the additional 5 days. I submitted a meal claim to Princess and the extra hotel charges to AON. I have claim numbers from both. I had no trouble uploading documents. Considering how many people have submitted Covid claims I can see resolution taking a long time.

  8. I think the aim is accommodating more than people who think of themselves as the older generation. There are many people with disabilities young and old who have difficulty using todays devices, just as there are many whose lives have been made easier by developments in technology. As a long time iPhone user I know it has many accessibility features that have benefited everyone
  9. In the App under Preferences/Room there is a check mark for Patter under what flyers you would like to receive, which means you can ask to have whatever flyers you want delivered.
  10. I recommend cruising to people who haven't been on a cruise. I don't know why I would recommend Princess over a particular cruise line. I do think that if I was in charge I would be targeting people most likely to spend money on board, which wouldn't include me.
  11. A reliable source told me I should be ready to book the Sun Princess Inaugural Transatlantic cruise for Fall 2024 on November 8.

  17. We had lunch several times last Spring on the Enchanted. Liked the Beyond Burgers. Would have dined more on our summer cruise, but it was closed for technical reasons. Hope it is as good on our upcoming Crown cruise.

  21. Am I correct that a Have It All Vista Suite on the HAL ship will cost $12,000 as opposed to $3700 for an Obstructed Deluxe Balcony Plus Fare on the Discovery? (what I have booked). You should get a lot more for the money, but I think I'll stick with the Discovery Princess.

  23. First thing I would do is compare the prices. We are doing a 15 day Panama Canal cruise from LA to Miami on the NCL Joy in January. The cost was $4760. A similar booking on the Emerald in January looks like over $9000. That is for a balcony cabin with no couch and only a desk chair.
