  1. Wish MSC would do a regular itinerary to the ABCs. Had to book Celebrity to re-visit (something we’ve been longing to do since we visited Curaçao and Aruba on Meraviglia’s repositioning from New York to Miami). Also, would love to see them do cruises to Hawaii (another bucket list destination). Again, had to book another cruise line to sail there (one from LA on Princess Cruises).
  2. It’s unlikely there’ll be cruises to SP for a long time to come.
  3. No deck 17 on any MSC ships as Italians are superstitious about the number (the way the number 13 is by others). It comes from an anagram, in Latin, of the number 17 in Roman numerals XVII. The anagram in question is VIXI which means "I HAVE LIVED" (perfect tense), implying "my life is over" or "I AM DEAD"
  4. Would love to do the 14 night Antilles itinerary (no US ports) but, so far, MSC only offers embarkation in Guadeloupe or Martinique to us. This entails connecting through CDG to get to either - no thanks. We’re fully booked up to Oct 2025; if we can find a way to book with Bridgetown as the POE then we may yet get to cross it off the list. We missed out on visiting St Petersburg (Covid-cancelled cruise 🙁) but the Baltics/Norway would also be on my list. It’s just difficult to contemplate a holiday in a region with similar climate to our own (cold and wet - and that’s just the Summer 🤪). We prefer the chance to see that great big yellow ball in the sky that, apparently, radiates very nice heat in some places.
  5. It’s specifically breakfast delivery time slots (on the breakfast menu) and it’s just the YC, thanks. We’ve done YC many times but I can’t remember the earliest time that you can have breakfast items delivered. Appreciate the time you’re taking to do this. I’ve done several ’Live from…’ reports so I know what it takes doing one. We’ll be sailing on Seascape soon, so it’s great to read about current experiences onboard.
  6. Can anyone tell me what the casual dining venues are on Grand Princess, please, and what kind of meals we can expect to get with Princess Plus?
  7. Oops - see you caught it and edited it lol It can be hard to keep up when you’re switching from one forum to another. 👍
  8. Wrong company 😆 It’s just known as Yacht Club restaurant (on ships other than Fantasia-class).
  9. So glad you posted about the casino. I enjoy a flutter on the machines (though I don’t spend/lose enough anymore to qualify for anything). I do miss the old, ‘fun’, machines that they had onboard years ago.
  10. The (unusual) experience calls to mind a conversation I had with a woman on the YC pool deck on Seaview (in the Med). We were about 3 days into a 7 night cruise and she shared how bad she (and her family) were being treated in the YC restaurant. I was totally shocked at her account and advised her to immediately speak to the YC director (described him to her as she had no previous YC experience). Next day she sought me out to thank me for the total change in her dining experience and, for the rest of the cruise, totally enjoyed her time onboard. It’s sad when people aren’t given the YC experience that they pay good money for.
  11. That is usually my motivation for calling attention to problems. Also, there can be a welcome gesture, acknowledging that the experience should have been a better one.
  12. Much appreciated. I was very disappointed on your behalf of your embarkation lunch experience. I hope that your overall YC experience exceeds your expectations. As far as I’m concerned, you should never have had to resort to the main buffet offerings for lunch. Personally, I would take it up with the YC concierge. This is not what your first exposure to YC should be.
  13. If you could find out both the YC restaurant m’D and YC Director’s names and how long they’ll be on for, I’d appreciate it.
  14. So glad you managed to sort it and delighted that the weather has improved for you. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at just how good YC is.
  15. Nope - that was my main course (and I hadn’t ordered an appetiser beforehand as I’m not an app person). TBH, I was totally shocked by it. I even took it up with the YC director (who happened to be walking past as we were exiting the restaurant). Needless to say, I didn’t get anywhere with him (he wasn’t very good). However, we had a wonderful concierge who saw us right 👍 Apologies to the OP for the interruption.
  16. This is what was served to me for my main course in Ocean Cay for our Diamond (formerly ’Black Card’) perk. Note that it resembled the original Black Card (it was similar in size - that’s the black cod, without the ‘accompaniments’).
  17. Here’s how some of the dishes actually appear (though on a different ship)
  18. Teppanyaki is incredibly popular. I’ve seen it totally booked out on a 23 night cruise.
  19. I really appreciate that you’re not referring to it as ‘St Patty’s Day’. Geez, A) Patty is a girl’s name, and, B) it’s affectionately called ‘St Paddy’s Day’ (or even just ‘Paddy’s Day’).
