  1. If your first time in Mykonos (we have been many times), also depending on the weather, (eg. August can be killer hot and your only desire will be going to the beach), I would take the water taxi which is adjacent to the ship dock - hmm I think there are two piers now. (Cost about $3.00 euros each way per person or the walk if weather is pleasant is about half an hour). Arrive, get a lay of the land, enjoy the Greek version of little Venice, (absolutely adorable, get lost in all the little narrow alleys, just enjoy the town. Walk out to the lighthouses and, if time permits, you can take a cheap shuttle (small vans charging around 10 to 15 euros a ride are at the edge of Mykonos town willing to ferry you to the various resort beaches and spend some time there on the beach. Watch the time.
  2. My husband and I reached Diamond Status a number of years ago and our younger son acquired the same status as us prior to his turning 18. He was 17 when we became Diamond. His wife had never set foot on cruise ship in her entire life. She is more of sailboat / yacht girl. Anyhow, she took much pride in entering the Diamond Lounge with her Diamond Status having some munchies and drinks, chatting with all the old timers but more importantly getting the four free drinks or was it three for her daily allocation onto her cruise card. Automatically, when my son sent in a copy of their marriage license and proof that they lived at the same address (lol), she was given Diamond Status to match that of my son. Unfortunately, they are both miffed that husband and I did not achieve Diamond Plus before he turned 18. I told him that he would not have his Elite Princess Status (which means nothing these days) if we would have totally concentrated our cruises with RCCL. Oh well. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you. (LoL). So to answer the question, son should call RCCL, send proof of marriage and same living address and voila Diamond status accorded to the wife as well.
  3. Thanks Fouremco. That is just what I needed to hear. I read exactly that on the Govt of Cda website, but just wanted extra confirmation that I was comprehending it right.
  4. Hi All, thinking of doing a cruise in the upcoming weeks. Vancouver to Anchorage Northbound Alaska via Princess.. Cruise departs on a Saturday. I will do my rapid Antigen at Shoppers Drug Mart on Thursday, then depart YYZ for VCR on the Friday. At the end of the cruise in Anchorage, we will be flying out of Anchorage the same day for Calgary. Do we need to do a rapid antigen in Anchorage prior to boarding our flight to Calgary. I know when we board in Calgary later that week for our flight to Toronto no rapid antigen is required. Fully vaccinated four doses. I know if I were to fly to US from Toronto return, there are no longer any PCR or antigen tests required. But it is the end of the cruise that I am not clear on. Are we exempt from a rapid antigen. Can someone clarify. We fully understand the ArriveCan app, as we have been to the US several times and have no issue with that.
  5. Trazz007, I just finished reading all your reports. Fabulous information and thanks so much for giving us all the true down and dirty of what is happening on these ships. You have sealed the deal for me. As much as I LOVE CRUISING, and normally do four to five per year to all points of the globe, I will not put my husband and myself at risk of Covid while travelling with 2000 to 4000 of my newest friends (ha ha). We have avoided it thus far (four doses to boot). With all the isolation requirements, it is simply not worth the aggravation. We are enjoying the lost art of driving vacations and seeing Canada and the US that way. We have of course, missed the production shows and the ease of dining afforded by cruising, but have found many interesting restaurants and lovely hotels and breathtaking venues while on our driving vacations from coast to coast throughout North America and will continue vacationing this way for the foreseeable future. We have a credit which is due to expire in Dec 2022 with RCCL ($2000USD from a previous RCCL debacle) but who cares is my opinion. Again, thanks for your very on tap information especially about the fact that once you are in isolation and not spending the big bucks at the casino or on drinks, or whatever else, you are basically a liability and we all know how liabilities are treated - just the way you were.
