  1. Being Diamond with RC and elite with Celebrity, we find it harder to book any other cruise lines because of the great perks offered by both. They'd be my first choices even without membership status. Think you'll enjoy the Reflection it's a beautiful ship with some great staff. If you got the beverage package as a free perk you'll really like it!

  2. lunches at Tuscan and Murano have had a scaled down menu for the $25 fee we've paid on both Reflection and Silhouette but Lawn club Grill had the full menu available when having lunch there. Don't expect to get the same experience as the resturant is much quieter and basically empty. We enjoyed our meals whether lunch or dinner

  3. Sailed Silhouette just prior to Canyon Ranch coming in next sailing. Steiner girls we talked to claimed canyon Ranch employees could be ex Steiner staff that had been fired, so not the greatest. Never felt any of the massages or facials I'd received to be of very high quality or training of the staff, sorry to say. Can't imagine paying more to possibly receive even less satisfaction, let alone fight over price. Glad you were able to get things straight and for the heads up for the rest of us.

  4. Did you qualify for a possible group rate? I haven't been a travel agent for a few years now, but if you booked 8 cabins (16 people) you may be eligible for some price reductions you could all benefit from. You should probably look into it with the group dept at Celebrity. I've never considered the western itinerary to be smoother sailing in Dec, one never knows in advance. Both ships are a great choice, have a great cruise!

  5. Another fan of Tuscan here too, love the location and view and relaxed vibe. However last week on Silhouette both evenings dined there were a miss. Server managed to throw my salad across my side of table hitting the silverware which crashed into the window, but managed to miss the wine and water glasses and my clothing thankfully. We were served three very tiny calamari in that rather large bowl, dried up eggplant which we've previously really enjoyed, grisly rib eye, icy cold desserts and coffee. Had the Ultimate pkg so went twice and neither time was that impressive sorry to say, service slooow and just not same as other visits. Was told we were to have lunch there with our pkg and when we showed up they wouldn't let us in, said it had been booked by a private group so they made a last minute decision to cancel. Sort of weird experience this time around, but will still go again next cruise

  6. There's been some limes available at certain times at different bars but they're in high demand. Yesterday when leaving St Kitts the Indy of the Seas which was docked next to us hit a small boat and hit and overturned a small boat. Both of our ships stayed to put out lifeboats to search for the two men. They were eventually found deceased. It was a very sad moment for pax and crew. We finally left around 8:30. The capt held a moment of silence for all. There were also 4 pax kicked of the ship a few days back, they were all members of a wedding party. Quasar has definitely been a busy place. Also 3 weddings took place within the first two days with many guests. Having a great cruise

  7. Talked to spa girl who is being transferred to Allure of Seas and she said to expect $300 massage treatment and that Canyon Ranch employees are ones who have been fired by Steiner. Also that P and O ships are going back to Steiner from Canyon because of lack of people willing to pay those prices, just what we were told, not sure how accurate that info is

  8. Funny you should ask, as I'm currently onboard Silhouette at the moment. Everything's going great, weather, etc., even got into San Juan half hour early because of smooth seas. Got the Ultimate dining package yeah! and so far have dined in Bistro, Porch twice, Qsine, Lawn Club for dinner and lunch today. There's to also be upcoming champagne tea in Murano and another lunch in either Murano or Tuscan I've been told. The Persian Gardens on Reflection is hands down larger and with more beds and cold room. It smells in both their sauna areas on this ship. The martini bartenders are really boring, no smiles nor whistle blowing going on there, totally unlike Hector and crew on Reflection. Some restaurant staff we've talked to have been on both ships and asked them which ship they preferred and they said hands down the Reflection, me too. The staff here just don't seem as happy to me, nowhere near as cheerful so far. This morning we went to Tuscan for Elite coffee and left after ten minutes because of no service from the staff who just stood around talking to other more important guests, I suppose. Not a biggie as we have drink pkg so just left and went elsewhere, but still found it a tad annoying. Girls at the Mollie bar are great. We also prefer the newer Sunset bar design on the Reflection. Never had an issue with the lack of space in the Sky bar nor felt the additional pax load really to be of any big deal on the 2 week sailing we did this past Dec on the Reflection. Going out of Ft Lauderdale is also my preference but Miami is not that much of a difference to me. Also sailing Eclipse 14nt next year as well as our old fav the Equinox it's all good to me. Officers are great on both ships too. Some poor lady fell at sail away up in Lawn area so be real careful up there also the grass is very sad looking

  9. Thanks for the updates now I don't feel as excited to order anymore. Going on the Sille Sun so now know not to get my hopes too high. Will have to give the chocolate cake a try. Was already planning to stop at Trader's on way home from cruise, so I'll check it out, thanks

  10. We tend to go to Muranos on formal nights and there are always people not dressed formally. Agree you need a lot of clothing for Alaska sailings, which seem more casual in evenings than others to me. Usually feel everyone is pretty much too tired after busy days to want to spend a ton of time getting dressed up.

  11. They will show up. Did a back to back and the first set showed up 30 days prior to ever seeing the 2nd weeks points, but they did get there without email or calling Celebrity. Wouldn't want to wait some 30-60 mins on hold just for points. Take it you intend to sail Celebrity again

  12. Congrats to you! There's also a morning cont'l b'fast spread with juices, cold cuts, pastries, cut up fruits, bagels etc. You can get some good coffee here as well as bloody mary, mimosa etc. It's usually held in Tuscan or some ships in Murano or Michaels Club depending on number of elites. When you get into your stateroom there will be coupons for internet, lanundry, dry clean and iron for a few items plus others. Should take a look on Celebrity website to see all your new benefits if unfamiliar.

  13. If offered try a combo of facial, neck and shoulder massage, etc. They sometimes have offered 3 services that you pick from out of like 5 types. Like a mini sampler to experience more variety but shorter in duration. They've also had Ladies spa nights with champagne that could be fun for you both. Dry sauna is no charge in the ladies changing room and those heated loungers are great. Hard to say what new services will be offered with upcoming change, but hot stone massage is wonderful. Hope you both enjoy your cruise and your spa experience!

  14. Thanks for the info will give a bit more direction in how we'd like courses served this next time. Especially when I know ther's something we really liked and didn't want to be to full to enjoy again. Agree the servers have been great and enjoyed our previous visits they seem to have fun and enjoy working there

  15. Have been to Alaska many times on various cruise lines and seems you'll find plenty of others not dressing up, just a bit more casual in general. Have done some ship shore excursions that were good. Check the Alaska ports board for lots of great info and plenty of excursions you can book yourself. Whale watching tours are a must for me and there are bus options on your own that we've used as well to get to some locations. Enjoy your adventure and planning, it's one of our favorite destinations

  16. On Reflection we had greek yougurt with berries, seeds, pomegrante, etc They had a whole bunch of ingredients and asked what we wanted to add. Cost $5 I guess and was incl with the premium pkg. Had a smoothie but didn't like the one and only one we tried so plan to try others next time.
