  1. It’s almost that time of night for What’s for Dinner? What would you order? We will be heading upstairs to dinner in about 30 minutes.
  2. Had our picture taken out on the Bow Sprit while sailing out of St Lucia also Pics of sail away raising the sails video with music was too long to upload.
  3. We just got back on the ship from the Beaxh BBQ party. Excellent great selection of food, they had a nice set up for the 300 passengers with live music playing steel drum. Here are a few of the pictures IMG_5609.mov
  4. Good Morning from near Pigeon Island St Lucia where we will have our Beach BBQ Day. sorry for not posting since yesterday morning. I lost internet and could not get signed back on till this morning. Not sure if it was me or the Starlink or both. It is a bit cloudy and overcast but hopefully will blow over. I do have lots of pictures to post. Yesterday went on a Dolphin and Whale excursion. We saw so many Sperm Whales with babies and hundreds of Dolphins, several kinds of dolphins but none were bottle nose but it was amazing We got back from the excursion at 4 just in time to see James Deering give a talk about Wines and production. It was extremely educational and I should have taken notes. I know I have learned a lot from him on the past especially about Sake. Last night we ate at Candles which is the out side Dining venue at night but day time called Veranda where we have breakfast and lunch and where I am sitting right now for breakfast. Dinner last night was really good. Tom who is the picky eater finally tried Veal and loved it and wants to come back to order it. We both had the very large Cesar Salad then he had the 8 oz Filet and I had the bone in Veal Chop that yes was amazing then I had the side of cheese creamy mushrooms Tom had a baked potato. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the dessert menu. Hopefully we can ply What’s for Dinner tonight. IMG_5554.mov IMG_5558.mov
  5. Terry, it has been but not quite the WOW we were expecting. Like all cruise lines they too have cut back is my understanding but I would say it is more like Holland America use to be. Last night both our Scallops and Tom’s Beef Wellington were excellent. I can say the Scallops were better than any I have had in many years.
  6. Good Morning from Wind Surf, we are in Dominica today , we are doing a Dolphin and Whale Watch excursion but not till 1:00 pm so we did go have breakfast in the Veranda Restaurant and now relaxing in the Yacht Club which is where the coffee bar is.
  7. Ok here is what we had… I had the Brie and pear Salad, and Lobster Bisque, then I also had the Scallops, I interestingly enough there was barely a taste of curry also the risotto did not have the coconut taste I was expecting more of a nutty risotto taste. I had mentioned to James my concern and he said not to worry about the curry taste. He knows what I like and he has never steered me wrong lol. It was a very good choice. Then I had the Chocolate Soufflé Tom had the Cesar Salad and the Beef Wellington and Vanilla Ice Cream.
  8. Tonight before dinner was the Captain’s Toast, the Captain introduced all the Officers. The Captain is very entertaining and is a past Captain on Holland America by the name of Colm Ryan, he is Irish but he and his wife and caught make their home in Nova Scotia. I forget what years he was at HAL definitely during the time we have sailed HAL.
  9. It’s that time of night to play…”What’s for Dinner” Nice menu this evening with some good choices. I will surprise those that know me well. So let me know what you would order, I will have pictures later of what we had.
  10. Here are pictures of Marina Deck. I don’t think it is being as much as it could. While I was in the Spa my husband said two people swam out to that trampoline looking thing. When we went down there there was no one out there.
  11. Lunch at the Veranda, I did buffet so I could have a bit of salad and fish. Tom ordered a burger. After this we are going to take the tenders into Nevis. I had a great massage and booked a facial and massage for the last day. This evening is the Captain’s Toast. @HaveDogWillTravel I will go get pictures now of the water sport landing and will post later.
  12. Thought you would like to see some pictures of the Daily Program this is yesterday’s and todays and some more pictures around the ship. Sorry I keep getting an error for yesterday’s front page of the Daily program.
  13. Thanks for the great web cam pics of our sail away.
  14. Enjoyed breakfast at the Veranda. Floating out near us is Club Med 2 which was originally the sister ship to Wind Surf.
  15. Good Morning from Wind Surf, it is a beautiful sunny day here in Nevis. Anchor is dropped. Today’s plan is to first go up and get a coffee at Yacht Club, then breakfast at Veranda. Then I have a massage at 11. Then in the after we get off a bit in Charlestown, not sure yet on dinner will keep everyone posted.😁
  16. Good Evening from Wind Surf, sorry for being Missing in Action but it’s been an extremely busy day and just did not have time. thanks so very much for capturing Sail Away we were on the aft in Compass Rose for most of it but did see it . The winds are perfect tonight so we are under full sail power with no engines running. The movement for us is a lot like an aft stateroom. It was a very good first day and yes I think Windstar is a good fit for Tom and I. Tonight after having wine with James we went to Stella Bistro a French restaurant, hopefully you can read the menus. Sorry I am so late this evening. With What’s for dinner. There was just lots of good wine, food and conversation. I will write more tomorrow when I don’t have wine fog 😉 Hopefully you can read the menus. Tonight I did not pictures ones meals The pics were what I ate. we closed Stella and were the only ones there. Over all a great first day, so good to see our good friend James Deering.
  17. We just enjoyed a nice buffet breakfast at the Infinity Restaurant that was as included with the hotel through Windstar. An absolutely beautiful view for breakfast
  18. Good morning!!! Happy to see that Wind Surf is there waiting for us this morning.
  19. Good Morning from St Maarten. It’s cruising day and what an amazing view we woke to. while the hotel itself is not overly close and is older, the view and its charm is amazing. Kind of reminds me of a way of the Royal Kona Resort in Kona Hawaii.
  20. Greeting from Oyster Bay Resort in St Maarten , Roy you are correct we had over a 7 hour delay. I lost count on how many delayed departure times we had. Everyone cheered when we took off and finally landed in St Maarten. They basically kept Immigration open for us while the rest of the airport was closed. The flight over all went smooth, had to cancel our dinner reservations through Open Table for the Infinity Restaurant. Instead of having steak and Caribbean Lobster I had Baileys and Coffee and 2 packages of Biscoff cookies, love to dunk them in the coffee. By the time we checked in and a porter took us by golf cart to our room every thing was closed. Oh well I am sure we will more than make up for it on Wind Surf. We do have a Bay Water View room that we will see more of in the morning but the sound of the waves lapping the shore is quite nice. This hotel through Windstar also includes breakfast that is served from 7 to 10. Check out must be done by 10 am they they stated the bus to take us to the ship will not be till 1pm. I am going to call it a day since we got up about 7:30 pacific time on Thursday and have basic not slept yet except for maybe a few short cat naps 😭
  21. Good Afternoon from…… Miami International Airport. Yes we are still here with more time updates of delay than I have ever received. The latest is our 8:35 am flight to now leaving at 2:45pm and not arriving till 6:38. I have canceled dinner reservations. We are just eating unhealthy junk food on American Airlines Lounge 😂 Just yet another reason to arrive at the very least a day before one’s cruise. It has definitely been a very long day since we left for the airport at 9pm last night. I will keep you all updated.
  22. With all travel, one must be prepared for delays. We are still in Miami. We were to be boarding 15 minutes ago on this delay. The Captain called for Maintenance with a problem, then they stated they needed to do an aircraft swap because this plane was not ok to fly over water. so we are waiting a bit longer. Text that just came through said fly will now leave at 11:13. Only 2.5 hours delay 😃
  23. Good morning from the American Admirals Club lounge at D30 at Miami International Airport. It is a beautiful sunny morning. We arrived at 7:14 East Coast time and found that our flight to St Maarten that was to leave at 8:35am it is now not going out till 10:15 which will get us into St Maarten at 2:35. I was originally concerned we would not have a chance to have something to eat. We are in First Class for all segments except from MIA/SXM. This plane only has 8 first class seats compared to the usual 16. We are in premium main cabin and waitlisted for free upgrade but doubt it will happen. These lounges are always packed. We were just in this Lounge last on December 17th after we disembarked HAL Nieuw Statendam cruise. But it does make it nice to relax, get a bite to eat and relax.
