  1. It's just a ploy. It really seems to resonate with the NEW CRUISERS and what cruise line doesn't want new cruisers. Just marketing.
  2. scarecrow... I've cruised with NCL since 2012 and have a pretty good understanding of the Free at Sea promos. The promos will continue as long as NCL continues to offer cruises.. it's really their thing which other cruise lines attempt to compete with, as such. My experience, in general, having booked myself, but directly through NCL website, is the same as your experience. Received the FCC, checked the amount which matched exactly, and was able to apply the FCC to 2 already booked cruises in 2021. Those cruises needed to be rebooked but, what that meant was that I rec'd all of the FAS offers, even in an inside cabin. I'm happy with the results but still hoping they find a vaccine or other resolution to the Covid19 prior to my cruises (B2B total 26 days) in April 2021.
  3. I did my first solo cruise in Oct 2017 on the little Sun. I love the Sun. When I wanted a glass of wine, the only alcoholic beverage I enjoy, I went to the bar in the Atrium Cafe. I met a lovely bartender, Sachin, from India. He was always so nice and welcoming and knew exacty what I wanted after only a couple of visits to his bar. I took a cruise on the BA, June 2019, and guess who I met at O'sheehans. He looked at me... did a double take... and smiled... he remembered me from the Sun. We had a great time... I met some wonderful new friends and will always be on the look-out for Sachin. He's one of my favourite crew members. I hope he's doing well and would love to run into him again on any of my future cruises. Cheers Sachin.. xox
  4. I think it might depend on what type of menu/venue you enjoy. For me, Onda would not be good but... from what I've read, it's one of the best Italian style restaurants available. Good luck with your choice.
  5. My first cruise ever was out of Tampa. When my kids were young, Tampa and St. Petes were our favourite goto places for a family vacay. We spent a few Christmas/New Years vacays there. So when we an opportunity to cruise out of Tampa, we grabbed it. Got there a day early, roamed around with the car and took TICO down to the water front and stopped at the "warehouse" area (not sure what it's called) and had a snack and a flight of beers. Was a really fun way to start our cruise on the Star. Many fond memories of that area. Kapok Tree INN restaurant/gardens? Anyone?
  6. Sorry you feel this way. It's an unprecented time we're living in right now. NCL did nothing wrong; had you waited and allowed NCL to cancel the cruise, you would qualify for a cash/CC refund. I cancelled my cruise as well, however, I had 3 other cruises already booked and, with the FCC I rec'd I'm quite happy with the outcome of my arrangement with NCL. It's really up to you how you deal with this, stay angry and upset or.... look for a cruise you could take to use the FCC you've been given. Cheers, feel better 🥂
  7. Right, I'm booked on the GA TA which departs BCN Dec. 5th directly with NCL. Final payment is due Aug. 7th and no way will I pay it before then. By then, we should have a much better idea of how things are going, as far as, combatting this Covid19 virus. I'll be waiting until August to make my decision about this cruise. Good luck.
  8. I agree with you Laszlo! I think the biggest issue will be persuading, possibly even guaranteeing, port of call that all pax will be Covid-19 FREE! Otherwise, the Ports won't want any cruise ship to dock and disembark pax which could easily spread this horrid virus. Patience, it's all we have to have right now. We're not going any where for a while. Keep safe, stay home, stay healthy. All the best to everyone.
  9. My FCC was applied to everything had booked (Apr. 2021 B2b cruises). It included, Guest Fare, Gov Tax/Port Exp/Fees, Bev Srv Charge, Din Srv Charge. My B2B cruises have only a small amount still owing. (I am a solo cruiser now so amounts will obviously be different for couples.)
  10. Ah, okay, thanks Scott (correct name, right?), I didn't realize someone had been that rude. My apologies. It's unfortunate, but I think many are feeling stressed and anxious regarding the "stay at home" policy in many areas. I have been fortunate that my family has embraced it. We chat online, text messaging, I do little crafts for my grand children.. but.. I know not all feel this is enough. My hope is that all will get past the worst of this horrible virus and become even closer than we were before the advent of this event. Best off luck to all and hope all stay healthy and while it may be difficult to do so, please be kind to each other. Best wishes.... hugs to all that may need them. (((hugs)))
  11. Rude, how? Truthfulness is not rudeness, it is simply reality. It's unfortunate some don't seem to know the difference.
  12. Who cancelled it? Was it NCL or did you cancel it yourselves? It seems to make a difference.
  13. I've gotten notice that I have a new PCC. So, obviously what KateQ has suggested is correct. Since it's just to cancel a cruise, I'd call the regular number for your area.
  14. My flight was Mar. 28th from Buffalo to Tampa. I paid the 1 day deviation. My flight wasn't free, it was reduced to $150 approx. So Delta offered that refund in the form of a future flight. Had to go dig up the letter from Delta: We are extending your flight credits even further We’ve listened, and we know that in these times of rapid change, you want the value of your ticket to be secure and redeemable for a longer period. As a result, we are now extending your eCredit for up to two years. All applicable eCredits will be automatically extended for travel to be completed through May 31, 2022, so there’s no action needed on your part. Delta is working on a solution to display the new expiration dates on Delta.com, so even if your eCredit for canceled travel has not yet been processed or extended, rest assured that your flight value is secure. If you are ready to book your new trip now and don’t yet see your eCredit or have an issue booking via delta.com, please have your old ticket number ready when you call our Reservations team. Your eCredit can be applied toward a new flight, and in some instances a fare difference will apply. If the new fare is lower, you’ll retain the balance on your eCredit. If the new fare is higher, the difference will be collected. Have questions or need more information? Please visit our Coronavirus Travel Updates page or Need Help page. Thank you for your continued support. This situation remains fluid, and, like you, we’re continuing to learn more as we go. Please know that we are committing the utmost care and attention into crafting our travel waiver policies. 15. Hi everyone, from Niagara region, Canada, :). We live in an almost unique time, a pandemic, unknown to most and unprecendented to all. In my area, we've been fairly safe from the actual Covid 19 outbreak yet, we are expecting an increase of cases from initial 2 cases to many more. I know how difficult it must be to some areas where this horrid virus has attacked so many vulnerable victims... my heart goes out to those and their families affected. I feel very fortunate that, in my area we are not in such a vulnerable area. My hope is that the health care system will find a vaccine to fight off this terrible virus and keep all of us safe. Best wishes to all and many thanks to those who are risking their lives to keep others safe. All the best.
