We were in Tsars eating breakfast at 7:00. We had the gray 8:30 tags. The announcements we kept hearing was that the ship hadn't been granted clearance, over and over again. People did see 2 men being led off in handcuffs, I was told.
Sure wish they would have been upfront and told us the machines were down and that was the reason. People were speculating and that is never a good thing.
The toilets also had intermittent problems of not flushing for the last 2 days. 50 cabins were affected plus the last day I was told all the restrooms by Spinnakers were not flushing. When I called to report mine each time they acted like that was the first time they had heard that. Which of course was not the case since friends of mine in other cabins were having the same problem and had called. I felt they were less than upfront with known issues. inmho be truthful about what is going on... be upfront...do not keep people in the dark. I have cruised many times. This was my first cruise on NCL. I was not happy with this aspect of the cruise.

Embarktation went smoothly. We just had delays this morning getting off the ship. There were various rumors going around.

We had quite a long wait to get off the ship. We could not get clearance to disembark. Heard rumors that some people were arrested. Would love to hear the details if someone has heard. Hope the people boarding today were not delayed too much.

What is the easiest way to get to Tsar's on the Jewel. Looks like deck 6 does not go all the way through. Is it easier to get off on deck 7 and walk to the back of the ship and down the stairs or elevator?
Thanks for any info:)!

Thank you so much for all the information:)! Cruise often but my first time on Norwegian and leave this Saturday! Booked a last minute cruise a day ago!!:)

Well, I find that most cruise lines have a few things that most people rave about. Such as:
RCCL- Scallop Risotto, Salad bar for lunch in the MDR
Carnival- Chocolate melting cake
Princess- Fruit tarts
So...:)!

Favorite pool to sit by?
Favorite complimentary places to eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner?
Can anyone use the relaxation pool at the front of the ship?
Which restaurant besides the buffet is open on embarckation day?
What are your favorite foods on Norwegian?
-
I was on Carnival and was able to log into the Carnival website onboard on my tablet and leave messages for my family at home. It was a public forum but we still communicated that way. Does Norwegian have that or any other way other than other than buying an email package?
Thanks

Is there a place to get morning (free) coffee like the Cafe Promenade on RCCL? or do you just need to go to the buffet?
Thanks

Thank you for the dining information! just booked my first NCL cruise on the Jewel so please keep the info coming!

I have mainly cruised Rccl... never cruised Norwegian how do they compare?
How are the inside cabins? do they have a loveseat? sofa?
Free style dining? So no set time traditional dining? is it all included? or only certain Venues?
Anyone cruised to Banana coast yet?
Thanks for any and all information!

Thanks everyone for all of your information. We are on RC and I called this morning about disembarking. There is a lot of paperwork they have to do to arrange this. They were very appreciative that I called almost a year in advance as we are not cruising until August 2015. I think last minute changes are hard for them do.
We will be renting a car for a week somewhere near the port and are renting a place near Sidney for a week. I think the Clipper back to Seattle sounds like our best option. I guess we will take a cab or something to the airport Hotel.
All information and advice are appreciated:)!i

Yes, I think we will be taking the Clipper:)!

We will be turning in a car in Victoria. Then considering boarding the Clipper to get us to Seattle. Are there ever any discounts for the Clipper? AAA, AARP etc?
Easiest way to get from the Clipper to SeaTac airport Hotel with luggage?
Thanks for any info:)!

We are going to rent a car for a week in Victoria. Getting off the ship there and staying for a week. Can anyone tell me where the best place to rent a car would be? Can you walk from the pier? to the rental place?
Thanks

Thanks for the information! Lots to figure out:).

We are going to disembark our cruise a day early and spend a week in Victoria. We will be renting a car in Victoria for a week. Any advice where is easiest to rent a car near the cruise pier?? (Should we keep it and return it at the Seattle airport?)
We will be flying out of Seattle. So also need advice on getting from Victoria to Seatac.
Do the Victoria clipper? then cab to SeaTac hotel? Shuttle? Town car?
Or do the car ferry and drive to Seatac. Renting in Victoria and return at Seatac?
Which would be easiest? Cheapest?
Thanks so much for any info!!

Is that board on cruise critic? Or could someone provide the link please.
Thanks!
If you read down the West Coast Departures board there are many recommendations for hotels and transport from airport to hotel. The common one is town car, but depending on where you stay, light rail can work very well. A downtown hotel is the best idea.I agree, taxi for hotel to port is a good idea.
Cruise hotels and transfers are rarely a good deal. This is not one of the exceptions to that statement. I promise you will save money by going it on your own.

Can you please tell us which Embassy suites?
Thanks
We stayed at the Embassy Suites; it was lovely. Terrific free breakfast buffet and afternoon snacks are included as well. The hotel drove us to the train station free when we decided to go downtown for dinner and a little sightseeing. I believe it is a 5 mile radius shuttle.
Enjoy your trip!

Anyone had 4027 on the Jewel of the seas? It is under the conference center. Will that be noisy?
My time dining, which deck?
Which dining room is breakfast served in?
We have only cruised on the Voyager class ships.
Thanks for any info!

Just doesn't seem like the BOGO is really a savings?? You see the price and then when you go to the summary of charges they have increased the 1st cruiser price and then give the 2nd passenger 1/2 of the inflated price. Looking at the RT out Seattle to Alaska for next summer. :0!!
just returned from the Jewel into Bayport

Sorry to hear about some of your incidents too. Glad they found the towel, however my toilet was not able to flush even on the day we departed the ship
:(! We were on the 10th deck. Hopefully all has been fixed and the current passengers are having an excellent cruise:)!
