Thanks for the info! We have an OV cabin on deck 3 near the elevators below the conference center and restroom area. Do you think that will be a noise problem? Have any of you had a cabin in that area?
thanks for any info!

Rala, Would love to know what you loved and didn't care for on the ship:)! If you post a review please put a link on this page too please.

Michelle, did you end up taking the bus to Mambo beach? Was wondering how easy it was and if there was good snorkeling there:)?
-
Anyone been there lately? We will be there in October. Would love recommendations. Any good snorkeling excursions? any great excursion companies? Can't seem to find anything on Carnival that excites us. Thanks

Great! I bought the metal hooks you suggested a while back:)! We cruise Carnival too and not all of their cabins have metal walls.
thanks!

Thanks for all the info on the Vision of the Seas. Are the walls metal and so you can use a metal magnet on the walls? We have been on some other lines where the walls were not metal and a magnetic hook would not work.
Thanks

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me about the food set up in the Solarium that you liked, please.

Mark,
We are on the cruise you are on. Plus we are doing the TA, plus the next two cruises. So a total of 6 weeks. Sure hope the Vision is great:)!

We will be in an OV cabin. Did you feel like the storage was well designed? Do the closets have shelves. Lots of drawers? We will be on it for several weeks and want to be prepared:)! Heard they do not have refrigerators in the room:(.

We will be sailing on the Vision in 2018. We have cruised other larger RCCL ships, but have never cruised on the Vision. Would love to know your pros and cons of the Vision.
Thanks!

Wow that sounds really interesting and beautiful! We will check it out! Thanks so much for the advice!!

Do you just take a cab there? How far is it from the port in Curacao and is there a resort there by the good snorkeling. Thanks!
-
We have never been to these ports. We are active and love to snorkel, but are open to any suggestions. Hoping Carnival will open some more choices for these ports. We are willing to go with other companies also.
Thanks very much.

We cruise both RCCL and Carnival plus few others. I am shocked and disappointed in so much RCCL has changed and NOT for the better. They have gone down hill and Carnival has come way up hill in our view. I asked my Travel Agent what is going on with RCCL?? She said they have become money grubbers. RCCL used to be our preferred cruise line. We still cruise them but they are not the "Classy" fun cruise line we used to love and prefer. The Promenade has turned into a flea market. Anyone know if they are being run by different execs? Wish they would get some new ones and return it back to our favorite cruise line.

RCCL do not have laundries to use and I have heard bad things about sending them to their cleaners. Carnival ships do have laundramats.

One tip we have used in the past are S hooks that we hung some very small items on the a/c vent. We didn't have any complaints because they were super light things.

Thanks so much for all the advice! Bob, hooks ordered. Hoping the Vision will have the metal walls. A little apprehensive of spending 6 weeks on the Vision. We always have a great time on a cruise though:).

Excellent tips:)! Does anyone know of some long clothes lines with magnets on the ends? I may make it...:)!

We will be on a very long cruise and would love your advice and tip and tricks:)!

Never buy the RCCL ones. Awful experience. Carnival good experience.

My TA is fabulous! The RCCL certificates are a vicious sham...with road blocks where you are not allowed to use your certificates. And, you are quite correct unless RCCL institutes a change in it's archaic rules we will never use them again when we can cruise friendly up to date cruise lines. Even though we are Diamond is 7 days and we have already spent $10,000 non refundable money.
-
After continuous run arounds and escalations to get these certificates applied to full payment of $10,000 of cruises, we find out that if there is a price drop prior to final payment there is no refund even in OBC! Plus we lost $1000 in OBC from our TA because they are unable to use these "strange certificates" unlike we have done many times on Carnival with no run around at all through our TA. RCCL needs to look at their archaic system seriously. They are far behind the other cruise lines. We cruise often and are high up with several cruise lines. RCCL has turned from a once classy cruise line to a medium class cruise line. The one gorgeous promenades have become "flea markets" for watches that do not even last until you return home. Shame on us for trusting RCCL Certificates and shame on you if you purchase them.

Please read the 2 pages of posts started by the OP. You will get the idea. It has taken numerous calls to get the certificates applied and I mean we spent $1000's of points and $10,000 in real money. Worst experience ever... The "Class act" we used to enjoy on RCCL has been ruined for us. They will not even give you price drops before final payment if you use these. I would cancel our 7 weeks of RCCL cruising because of how we have been treated, but we would not even get our money back... after paying for these gift certificates. Lesson well learned and want to save others from going through 4 weeks of h*ll.
