  1. I had an issue on the Nieuw Amsterdam a few years ago. We booked what HAL called an accessible stateroom. However, it was a very strange shape and we could not get the scooter into the cabin. The bathroom was accessible (walk in shower with grab bars). Our cabin steward instructed us to park the scooter in the elevator lobby 2 cabins away with the charging cord. He took the scooter away every night and charged it for us and then brought it back to the elevator lobby at 7 am every morning. Moral of the story: they try to accommodate you to the best of their ability. However, it is true that Maritime Law prohibits parking scooters and wheelchairs in the halls for safety and evacuation purposes.
