  1. No, I was talking about MDR times. However, on some cruise lines I had the opportunity to request AM or PM cabin cleaning; but not both as it used to be for all cruise lines. Doug
  2. I have reservations and expect NCL to honor them. I'll be disappointed and surprised if they do not. Doug
  3. Ah, I understand completely about the nap! One of life's pleasures! I forget, is NCL doing just one cleaning a day? Fine with us, we also let our steward know on any ship that's all we need. However, we always request an AM cleaning if that is possible. Doug
  4. Did you make reservations before boarding? Curious, as we did for our upcoming and I hope the reservations are honored. Manhattan remains the more "elegant" MDR of the three? That's the only one we used last time, but this next cruise we'll be trying the others also. We booked either 1730/530pm or 1800/6pm for dinner, so I am hoping it won't be too crowded at that early time. We're old farts who eat early obviously!😁 Doug
  5. Holly cow! That's early for cleaning! Or did you mean 1630 or 430pm?😉
  6. Yep. Look at my schedule below and you'll understand why I am frequently confused.......😁 Doug
  7. Surely you don't mean the Cruise line gave out bad information?😉 Ha, we have all been own that particular road a few times, haven't we? I doubt I will be able to use OBC before boarding, but at some point I will probably have enough time on my hands that I will call my TA or Princess and try to do that. I doubt my TA can do anything, but better him on hold for an hour than me. It does irk me though: Cruise lines "give" us a nice OBC and then make it difficult/impossible to use. I suspect if I wait until boarding to book Cagneys and Sabitinis all the acceptable dining times will be snapped up by those without OBC who booked early and paid with their credit card. I guess we will have to hit the jewelry and liquor stores to burn through that OBC. My wife will be happy to do the former! Doug
  8. Hmmm. My TA called Princess the other day and got this reply to my OBC: You should be seeing the full $xxx OBC on your account. (ed: it was there at Princess.com) You can also see the break down of the OBC. Spoke with Princess and the OBC is on your booking $xxx. I asked if the OBC was able to be used pre cruise and here is Princess answer. The OBC can be used as Pre-shore excursion purchase, and Lotus Spa services and Specialty Dining. But, as we all know, customer service at any cruise line is at best questionable. I'd hate to wait until we board to book specialty dining as we prefer to eat early, and those times seem to go fast. We have a large amount of nonrefundable Princess OBC, plus military and stockholder OBC, so it's gonna be tough to use it all as it is. So I absolutely do not want to pay for dining with my credit card. I guess I will try chat again sometime to try and book with OBC prior to boarding. Doug
  9. I've logged onto Princess.com a couple of times since booking this cruise about 5 days ago. I have booked our MDR times and locations, but I want to book Cagney's and Sabitinis also. When I book a time and date, the screen shows a charge. I want to use my OBC and NOT charge to my credit card right now. I have tried several times to use Princess.com's "Chat", but wait times are more than I can spare. Question: When can we book Specialty Dining? Can we use OBC when we book early? Thanks to you, oh wise ones.😉 Doug
  10. Ahhh........ gonna answer my own question. I found my notes from our last Princess cruise. We are Platinum level. Last time I make our anytime dinner reservations about 3-4 months out. We're not booked a specialty dining venue before, since Plus just started including those, but I am assuming I can book those about the same time. Doug
  11. Subject lines says it all. We're booked on the Regal Princess out of Galveston. Our booking invoice says we have Open Seating. (out of curiosity, what are the traditional dining times if that still exists on Princess?). I wonder when I can make dinner reservations for our MDR meals and also for the specialty dining venues like the Crown Grill. We normally prefer to eat around 1800/6pm at home and we'd like to try to keep that general time. Thanks for information from those who have cruised Princess lately....we have not. Doug
  12. I suppose it depends on where on the ship ones cabin is located. The Waterfront is aft on deck 8, and the regular lido coffee plus is located in the Horizon Court, aka Lido Deck on deck 15. On our next cruise, our cabin is midships deck 13. Nice to have options: $6 for cabin service, or hike down/up for self serve. No matter which option, we'll be having our coffee and croissants on the balcony! 😎 Doug
  13. I'm the OP. Thanks to everyone who replied. We decided to book it! We will be on deck 12 in one of the cabins I mentioned earlier. Looking forward to sailing on Princess again, it will be two years since we last sailed on them. They have always been in the top 2-3 cruise lines for us. Now if Princess would just put a ship closer to use, like in NOLA or Mobile!😎 Doug
  14. I'm the OP. Thanks for all that valuable information, I'm sure I'll be putting it to use in the future. Doug
  15. Another question on that cabin<s> location area. I discovered there is a "Skywalk" on the Regal and Royal Princess. It appears that those walking on the skyway (deck 17?) could have a great view onto the balconies of those cabins. And that the view of the sky/stars might be hampered from those cabins? Anyone have any information on that before I book? I am planning to book A518. Doug
  16. I'd think the engine exhaust would be farther toward the stern. And yes, I said A520 and then erroneously mentioned Baja, but the x520 cabins are in the same location, only on different decks. Give me a break, I'm only halfway through my second cup of coffee!😜 Doug
  17. Yes, but 520 are in the same relative location, only on different decks. Doug
  18. Looking for feedback on the noise level of those M6 mini-suite (aka Club Suite) cabins that are forward on deck 8. They appear to be located over the theater, but maybe far enough forward that the noise from below isn't too bad. We're looking at that category because it has a larger balcony than the regular mini-suite cabins. We're looking at the Getaway specifically but I believe the two ships are probably identical. Thanks for your insight. Doug
  19. I've been looking over the deck plans for the Regal Princess. We are considering an MB cabin such as A520 on the Baja deck, deck 11. That same open area exists on the decks above and below. Does anyone know what that open/blank area is between A502 to A511? We prefer to not be too near areas that generate a lot of noise. Cabin A520 is several cabins down from the area so ought to be safe, but I am curious. Thanks for your help. Doug
  20. Thanks for reminding me why we have decided to take cruises only from ports to which we can drive! What a nightmare!🥵 Doug
