  1. FYI If you need to add people on another invoice/booking number to your dinner reservation, you will need their invoice number and also their date<s> of birth. That could be tricky sometimes with some of your friends, especially the ladies.....😉 Doug
  2. Certainly an odd place to find it, but find it I did! Thanks for leading me to the page. I need to get my sister's reservation number to make the reservations, but hopefully I can get the time we want. Doug
  3. I did a search on that page - the only "select" is where it says "select country". Is there some reason perhaps my ship (Eclipse) doesn't have Select/Open/Anytime/Whatever-I-Select dining? My cruise invoice simply says "Open Seating". I guess I'm going to have to call Celebrity and spend a couple of hours on hold.......Yipes! Doug
  4. Thanks, but I already have done that; several times. When I click on "Manage Reservation", there is nothing for Dining other than "Dining Package". If I click on that, all I see are the specialty dining places. Perhaps we're trying to select dining times too early, as our cruise is actually 105 days from now, I mistakenly said less time earlier....must have been thinking of our October HAL cruise. I wonder if I must use the phone app to make MDR reservations? I'll try that next. Doug.
  5. Our reservation invoice for the Eclipse sailing from LA in October 2023 shows " Open Seating". We are a party of four and would like to reserve a table for four as soon as possible. It's been some time since we've had anytime/open/whatever dining so I don't recall when we can book our dining time in the MDR. When, and how can we book a dining time? Thanks for the help! Doug
  6. Well yes, I read that. My post was that I'd like to see something official from HAL about that service. However, I re-read the link above, and this time clicked HERE <Sign up> which does lead to a section that has information on the "Luggage Direct". So, for those looking for information and prices for "Luggage Direct" (your cabin to your final airport), click on the link (HERE) and read about Luggage Direct. Doug
  7. I checked the link above, but it sounds like that is a service that would take your bags to/from the ship where you'd not need to collect them at the airport. I've heard of such a service, but I believe it's called something like "Luggage Forward" or something similar. It's very expensive and we have never needed or used it. We only need the service where our bags are picked up outside our cabin the last night of the cruise, and we don't see them again until we collect them at our "home" airport. That service used to cost around $25-$50 from Port Everglades, I think with RCI/Celebrity/Princess? We're not used that service for some time. It was very handy and well worth the cost for us!😎 Anyway, reading that link, it does not sound like that is what is offered. Sounds more like Luggage Forward or whatever that service is called. Can anyone please confirm the "cabin to last airport for $25 <per bag?>" is still available for most airlines for the airports used by Port Everglades? If you can post a copy of the form passengers use near the end of the cruise that would be helpful also. Thanks very much! Doug
  8. I don't know, but really? Seems that if it's on your HAL account page with an expiration date, one would not need to update it annually? But who knows, each cruise line seems to do things so very differently. They're not trying to confuse us, are they?🙄 Doug
  9. I'm about in the same boat, but my cruise is only a seven day one. I don't think I'll even both asking for my wife's AARP OBC. I believe it's only $50 anyway. I just made the final payment about a week ago. Doug
  10. Regarding requesting the AARP OBC to an existing booking..... Never hurts to ask it to be applied to a current booking. I had a military OBC added to a current booking after I learned that HAL was offering the military OBC. I booked the cruise almost a year ago, and used SheerID <through HAL> to verify my military status only a few months ago. Things could be different with how HAL will handle the AARP, or perhaps there is a reason HAL granted my request for the booking made well before I got my military status verified. I will probably request the AARP OBC in my wife's name in a few days. I am not an AARP member....although at my age I certainly could be!😆 Doug
  11. Ditto. Wife is a member but not me; I booked our upcoming cruise a while ago. Wonder if we could get OBC on this one (Oct 2023) or not until the next is booked.......
  12. Thanks Steve. Yeah, we do not want to to hotel transfer back to LAX to catch the cruise line's transfer. Big hassle. I had not though about also checking Lyft. Competition is good! Keeps prices competitive. Doug
  13. Question for all you experienced Uber users: Background: Four of us seniors are staying at a hotel in El Segundo (right outside LAX). We need transport from that hotel to the World Cruise terminal in San Pedro for our Celebrity cruise. We are considering using Celebrity's Airport Transfer, but that means returning to LAX the morning of the cruise and the hassle of finding the Celebrity personnel and bus. Several have recommended Uber from our El Segundo hotel to the cruise port. Price seems reasonable, but apparently we cannot schedule months in advance for our December 2023 cruise. I hate to wait to the last minute to summon a Uber Black SUV. Question: Has everyone always had the Uber large vehicle arrive quickly for such a trip? I don't see how drivers could always be available if I can't schedule in advance. We are considering booking something else we can schedule, like a private limo, but I suspect the prices will be much higher. Uber ought to be around $125 for we four in a large vehicle. Doug
  14. Thanks for that information, Heck, I'd ALWAYS expect that my OBC could be used for gratuities. I don't recall ever having to pay grats unless I had no OBC for that cruise. Doug
  15. Maybe a dumb question, but different cruise lines do it differently..... We have about $325 OBC on an upcoming Celebrity cruise. All but $75 of that OBC is non-refundable. Please someone confirm we can use that OBC for our Celebrity cruise gratuities.😳 Doug
  16. Wow, thanks for all that! Answers all the questions I have right now. Thank you taking the time to post that, sir <madam?> Doug
  17. Thanks for that info. We're still figuring our best way to get from the hotel in El Segundo to the cruise terminal and back. Our cruise is in December this year. At this moment we will likely take Celeb's transfer from the ship, even knowing having to make all the other stops. I mean, we'd be seated, right, the bus does eventually take you to your terminal? Was your transport (Uber?) able to pick you up in front of your arriving terminal? Were you able to schedule it? Do you remember what you paid per person? We've a party of 4 in our 70s, but luckily without any significant mobility issues. Doug
  18. I did determine that the LAX - San Pedro airport transfer costs $35 per person per way if anyone is looking for that information also. We decided to take what we hope is the easy way out, while understand the craziness of LAX airport and the sometimes frustration of the cruise line airport transfers: We're flying into LAX, doing a RO1N at the Fairfield Inn in El Segundo, then using the Celebrity airport transfer both directions. Cost seems very reasonable for everything. The deciding deal for us in Memphis was a direct flight both ways. 🥰 Doug
  19. Well, at least you have the spelling for "nieuw" correct!
