Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Just got off the Enchanted Princess. Kids club hours for sea days are basically 9a-12p, 1p-5p, 6p-10p, with paid sitting available 10 pm - 1 am but need to notify staff before 8 pm that day. On port days, you can drop them off for continuous care while the ship is docked, where they will bring the kids to the buffet area over the lunch hour. Art/Craft and education activities are scheduled during operating hours while the ship is not in port; otherwise it's basically free play. There were only 10 kids aged 3-7 and 8 kids 8-12 on our sailing. That was still enough for both the Lodge and Treehouse to be fully staffed with a full slate of activities so I think the number would have to be really low if they made the decision not to open the youth center. Heads up - save lots of room in your baggage for all the goodies the kids will get over the course of the cruise!
  2. Princess has informally confirmed the new policy. From their FB page in response to someone's question. Question: Princess Cruises: We sail Oct 1 Enchanted Princess New England/Canada. With Canada’s announcement, we no longer need a pre-cruise Covid test to enter the country. Just want to verify that we won’t need the test to sail Oct 1st. Thanks. Author Princess Cruises Hi ----, great question. That is correct. This new policy is effective October 1st. You will not need to worry about getting Covid-19 tested. We are so excited to welcome you onboard. Is this your first time sailing to Canada/New England? 💙
  3. There's a lot of threads going around on CC but I'll just post the Princess notification here. https://www.princess.com/news/news_releases/2022/09/princess-cruises-ready-to-welcome-all-guests-with-transport-canadas-removal-of-all-covid-19-vaccination-requirement-to-enter-country.html?cid=pr_social_socialorganic_TWITTER_engagement_brand_na_na_na&linkId=183093870
  4. AZJohn: I just live chat with Princess about this a few minutes ago as we are on the same sailing as you. Their response is: "as of now we havent updated yet so please still follow what the protocols on our website says." So, maybe wait a day or so and see
  5. Let's see how quick Princess will update their guidelines soon to reflect this
  6. If you buy WIFI a few days into the cruise, is it prorated or you still pay the same price for the whole itinerary.?
  7. We are docking at 88 Black Falcon for the day, may someone be kind enough to describe where the taxi stand for 88 Black Flacon is? TIA
  8. Any thoughts as to the room steward that cleans your room daily? It seems like a few folks here that are diligent mask wearers outside their room test positive later on in their cruise. Inside your room, people understandably let their guard down (like not washing your hands that often, using hands to eat); thoughts on whether is it possible that if the room steward is infected he/she may actually introduce the virus on some surfaces?
  9. The data is interesting, but how do you all find out these numbers? do you just ask guest services on board or is it posted somewhere?
  10. For kids under 3, you'll have to accompany the baby to play in the kids area. You cannot leave them with the staff.
  11. Do Platinum members have a separate line or are they bundled with the "elite boarding status" priority check in line mentioned above?
  12. I've skimmed through this thread (reading every second page or so), trying to get a feel on the current situation aboard the ships. I remember back in June timeframe, every second or third thread here was about question/complaints about the Quarantine procedure. Some people reported busloads of people getting off the ship at disembarkation to go on busses to Quarantine hotels and I read in ANC they even booked a whole hotel to house the Quarantine folks. Princess even had a temporary masking policy for o/w Alaska trips. Now, when I go through the first 4-5 pages of this forum, there's not a single thread about this topic. For folks that recently cruised, is the situation better now (less people testing +ve/quarantine)? Maybe this is why cruise lines have more confidence to loosening some of the requirements?
  13. Just yesterday, I was also given the $100 number by my TA for transportation between the cruise terminal and the airport, but it is round trip price. Thanks for the link for Carmel Car Service, the price looks great!
  14. We will book a balcony room this fall for our first NE cruise. When the ship is docked, we like to watch the land part of the port and some people watching. Is there a side of the ship which is dockside more than the other or is it all random? Any other tips on selecting port/starboard for this trip? Much appreciated as usual!
  15. I don't think that will change unless the gov't regulations change. https://travel.gc.ca/travel-covid/travel-restrictions/cruise "To embark on a cruise ship that will start, dock or end in Canada, if you’re 12 years of age or older, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, with very few exceptions."
